Pride and Prejudice Bicentennial

This year marks the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. I'm going to be celebrating the book and its characters this week on my blog. Well, actually, one character in particular. You know who.

So, why don't we all get our dog-eared copies of this classic novel down from the bookshelf and start off our marathon reading session with that famous first line: "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife."

Tomorrow: First Editions? D'oh!

  6. Well, let's see....I shan't read the book again but I did just watch it on the telly two nights ago....close but no cigar. I do believe that this olde broad can keep up though. Maybe...with the help of my cats. Oma Linda

  12. Love the first graphic, very appropriate! My kittens and I have not graduated yet to such a wordy tome as Pride and Prejudice. We are only just now starting "Puss N Boots". It might be a while before we are ready for Jane Austen.

  18. I'm a huge Jane Austen fan and have read most of her books. Even though I love Pride and Prejudice, my favorite has to be Persuasion.
