Bunny Luuuuuv
Years ago when I moved in with My Rare One, she gave me this lovely verdigris rabbit lawn ornament to mark the occasion. Every summer we put it in the front yard beside the inukshuk in the juniper bushes. We can see the rabbit from the house but it is not visible from the street so it is safe from theft.
This summer our rabbit made a new friend! A wild rabbit came to visit over the course of several days in July. She would sit near our rabbit in companionable silence for up to an hour in the late afternoon. After a few visits, she moved on to greener pastures (hopefully) and we didn't see her again.

That is PRECIOUS! How sweet to see that wild bunny looking for a friend. Maybe he just needed a quiet ear for a while.
ReplyDeleteAh, this is "stony silence" but in a good way!
ReplyDeletesuch a touching story, and I love those rocks in your yard, Debs
ReplyDeletewould n't it be wonderful to speak rabbit, love to know what was going through that bunny's head , uh, the real one of course,
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet, sort of .
ReplyDeleteLong ago I had a boyfriend I sat next to for days on end until I realized he was just stone cold. Analogy ? hee hee
Oh, that is so cute.
ReplyDeleteMary
Now that is just the sweetest thing! The real rabbit was probably wondering why static rabbit was not joining in the rabbit fun!
ReplyDeleteThe bunny fun continues! How darling that the wild bunny hung out with your garden bunny! I have to admit that my eyes went straight to the inukshuk ~ especially after seeing a number of them in Labrador. Have a good one with your Rare One!
ReplyDeleteSo, the new bunny wasn't in love with your stone bunny? Harumph... And here I thought there was going to be a true, long term romance.
ReplyDeleteHi Debra! I love that you have your little bunny near the Inukshuk, almost to keep it company too. I hope your curious and quiet friend who visited your front yard bunny is safely munching greens in someone else's yard, too. Bright blessings,
ReplyDeleteBird
That is sweet! Looks like the bunny was attracted to the strong and 'silent' type :)
ReplyDeleteHow cute! There got to be a message from the universe in there. Meanwhile the rock sculpture reminds me of the ones from the stream ip at our camping site!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute. Hope the brown bunny didn't think the white bunny was being rude and indifferent.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he thought the stone bunny was playing hard to get. :/
ReplyDeletehow cute is that? The real bunny visiting your bunny is just so sweet. Hope they had a nice visit. Oma Linda
ReplyDeleteFor an hour? Wow.
ReplyDeleteRabbit are always a happy surprise.
ReplyDeleteAwww cute little wabbits!
ReplyDeleteMy so used to want a rabbit, got a cat instead as we'd need a rabbit run as we get foxes. love your stone rabbit ornament..cool
Thinking deep rabbity thoughts, no doubt. Great photo!
ReplyDeleteAwww! Sadly, White Bunny didn't return the advances of Grey Bunny and he moved on to find somebunny more appreciative of his wild stories and snoring.
ReplyDeleteit was love at first sight until she realized he was made of stone.
ReplyDeleteI think the wild rabbit should be called Pygmalion.
ReplyDeleteOMG! You have a Velveteen Rabbit!
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet! I love this! How special Debra! Did you build your inukshuk? It's excellent! I have always wanted to build one for our house! Take Care ;o)
ReplyDeleteAww, your stone rabbit had a summer fling!
ReplyDeleteI bet she stole a few kisses before she moved on ;-D
ReplyDeleteSweet but sad. I had to wonder what the wild bunny was thinking..wondering why his new friend didn't respond in any way.
ReplyDeleteI have a bunny like that out on my patio and I love her. She is in the back patio so safe and sound.
How wonderful for you to witness that companionship. I wonder if the visiting rabbit thought "she's a bit on the quiet side, but I love her". Magical.

That is SO COOL!!!!! A friend for your Bunbun. Lovely statue - very lifelike. And I adore your inukshuk! I'm jealous...must make myself one next we're at the Homestead.....
ReplyDeleteAin't nature grand...Poor Bunny
ReplyDeleteThat is very sweet. Maybe the other bunny left to find more drama than yours could provide.
ReplyDeleteBe well, Debra.
xoRobyn
Yay rabbits, One of them looks stoned.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Sunday, eh.
Gary
That is gorgeous. I bet the other rabbit got sick of being ignored. lol
ReplyDeleteAwww...that's sweet!
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable! I had a cat a few years ago who would sit and cuddle up with (and even nibble the ears of) a piece of art, a Oaxacan painted wooden cat. Luckily he did not show affection toward us by ear biting.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely adorable xx
ReplyDeleteThat is beyond adorable, and I won't even pretend that it didn't melt my blackened heart.
ReplyDeleteThat is a sweet story! Love the photo too!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. The wild rabbit must have been a bit baffled as to why its new companion never moved.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she was just meditating on the inukshuk.
ReplyDeleteWe had a bunny that came to visit us every night over the summer too. It would sit outside the back door and tease our dogs. It was hysterical.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the baby rabbits we found on our front lawn when I was mowing it.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, I didn't hit any.
bunny love for real! cute pics girlie
ReplyDeleteWe have rabbits all over own grass at times. I have thought about getting an air rifle coz they do so much damage, now I feel guilty for feeling that way.
ReplyDeleteOMG, that is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable and everyone's comments are too funny!
