I'm sure everyone's heard by now of today's once-in-a-lifetime convergence of American Thanksgiving and the first day of Hanukkah. I think it's great because both holidays are fundamentally about freedom and gratitude. So to celebrate, here's a few of my fave Thanksgivukkah images from the internet. Enjoy, everyone!
They say it won't happen again for 7,000 years. I bought some latkes and jelly donuts to go along with the meal and honor the day.

These are great! I especially like the 'American Gothic' one!
ReplyDeleteOh those North Americans ! lol
ReplyDeleteInteresting, we have few Jews out in the middle of nowhere so I didn't hear anything about it. I can imagine that there is some good food at a Jewish Thanksgiving this year!
ReplyDeleteI'm craving turkey so bad. Ugh. And cranberries. I could totally go for some stuffing. Man, it's 6:30 am and I'm thinking about a turkey dinner.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays to all who is celebrating and happy Black Friday too :)
ReplyDeleteI love Mary's idea.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to the lighting of the largest menorah in our state on Friday night at Albuquerque's Civic Plaza. Thought our heathens might enjoy seeing how others celebrate and besides there is a dinner afterwards with yummy fare. So we will be celebrating with all the others for this once in 7000 year event. No celebrations here in the UK, just another day, but at least I'd don't have to be thankful for anything. :D
ReplyDeleteHappy holiday!
Imagine if you were Jewish, American, and had a birthday on the 28th. Be a Thanksbirtakah
ReplyDeleteand happy to you.

Love them all, and can't pick a favorite! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteJa! Love the pretzel turkey! Happy Thanksgiving Debs!
ReplyDeleteThe dreidels for feet is genius. I only wish I had done that to my own turkey...
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
I know even less about Hannukah than I know about Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteThe turkey with the bread body will have me laughing for awhile. I must b tired!
ReplyDeleteGreat that we have witnessed this event since most of us won't be around for the next one!
ReplyDeleteYes, I liked the 'American Gothic' too!
I hope you're having a wonderful day today my friend.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that you don't have this holiday as there is never too many holidays. I think there should be paid days off about every week but seemingly employers aren't keen on this idea.
ReplyDeleteLoved the pictures...especially the pilgrim buckle on the yarmulke.
Happy Holidays, to all who are celebrating! Great pics!!!
ReplyDeleteGOBBLE-TOV!
ReplyDeleteI was reading a LITTLE bit about the changing Jewish calendar and (I will not say "Oy vey" I will not) holy guacamole, that is confusing, but apparently this will not coincide again for another 70,000 years or something. Interesting.
Check out Naomi's blog - her pic of the t-shirt is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHilarious images! By the way…I retired my constantly evolving blog! It's a new beginning for me…you can find me here: http://carolinedreams.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI'd somehow thought that Hanukkah was only ever in December. Not sure why. Live and learn, I guess!
ReplyDeleteHow adorable! I just found out about both holidays occurring on same day yesterday. That's great. I had no idea Hanukkah was so close. Thanks for stopping by and following. You have such a lovely blog. Cheers!!
ReplyDeleteWhooHoo! Happy Thanksgivukkah, Debra.

Ah, holiday creativity!
ReplyDeleteThe coincidence of Hanukkah and American Thanksgiving won't happen again for 73,000 years. We should plan an appropriate inclusive party.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! I'm glad to see you have gathered all these amazing graphics for me to steal, I mean pin. I have to send a couple of these on to my Jewish/Danish friends!
ReplyDeleteSuch an interesting mix of holidays. I imagine those who celebrated both had a unique meal combining the 2!
ReplyDeleteI hope your holidays were wonderful. Have a lovely Sunday.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Thanks for the Turkey Day wishes. Bright blessings, bird
ReplyDeleteI like the bird picture the best.
ReplyDeleteI loved that! Although I feel robbed of a few gifts ;-)
