Yes, it's the first official day of autumn today.
And you know what that means . . . .
I like pumpkin spice too, but ONLY when it's
in a pumpkin-based food item like pumpkin pie,
pumpkin muffins, pumpkin loaf, etc.
I do NOT care for it in non-pumpkin-based items
like lattes, popular though they may be.
My philosophy regarding non-pumpkin-based items is --
But these days, it almost seems like pumpkin spice is in EVERYTHING!
And for all you Dune fans out there . . . .
People! Just stop and think of the terrible toll
your pumpkin spice addiction is taking!
Consume pumpkin spice responsibly, everyone!
Thanks for the fun laugh, i needed it. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteunless it's pumpkin pie, fuhgeddaboutit! ban pumpkin spice everything!
ReplyDeleteThis pumpkin post was just what I needed, friend D … Happy Equinox and Blessed Bee … Much love, cat.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite season of the year. Having pumpkin spice in my oatmeal this morning.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if pumpkin spice durex is orange in colour!
ReplyDeleteThese are hilarious. I've never even had anything with pumpkin spice and I already don't like it, they seem to be pushing it so hard.
ReplyDeleteStill very thankful that the equinox portends the end of the heat and glare!
Seriously,a Pumpkin Spice Latte, the first time I tried one, was delicious.
ReplyDeleteNow, it's all overkill.
Back to the pies, dammit!
I had pumpkin pie once in Canada - and I wasn't impressed.
ReplyDeleteOh I love that first one! As I've said elsewhere, pumpkin spice shouldn't even be used on a pumpkin! Of course, I don't like pumpkin, so there's that.
ReplyDeleteHasn’t it got to be October before we see all the pumpkin spice stuff? I wish!
ReplyDeleteIf the third picture from the bottom is any indication, there's even a pumpkin spice hot dog.
ReplyDeleteWell - maybe pumpkin pie otherwise, pumpkin spice should stay inside a pumpkin!
ReplyDeleteThe only pumpkin spice I have EVER liked... other than in good pumpkin pie... is the kind that goes into Starbucks rarely found pumpkin spice glazed cookies.
ReplyDeleteWasn't she a singer who was kicked out of a British girl group back in the '80s?
ReplyDeleteOh, these made me laugh! I am in 100% agreement with you about the spice overload. It's not for me, but if it makes people happy, well, ok.
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that the pumpkin spice aroma is competing with the cinnamon pine cone aroma at the big retailers... come on, one signature scent at a time, fools!
Happy Happy Autumnal Equinox to you, my friend. I freakin' love this holiday and I wish you lots of fun. For me, I love the my own homemade pumpkin spice steamers with homemade soya milk. Oh my gosh and I accidentally made a gingerbread steamer. Heaven. Pure heaven.
ReplyDeleteI'm like you ~ I only want my PS in a pie!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog; Merry Autumnal Equinox!!
You had me snickering until I saw the pumpkin spice condom and I lost it! Well there are flavored condoms. Okay I have to admit it, no matter how much I try and try and try, I just can't learn to like pumpkin pie. I feel like I have been cheated out of a piece of pie when served pumpkin instead of apple, cherry or something along those lines.
ReplyDeletei hate pumpkin spice anything. i hate artificially flavored anything. blessed mabon!
ReplyDeleteIt is pumpkin pie or nothing for me.
ReplyDeletethe Ol'Buzzard
haha! I have had pumpkin pie on occasion but otherwise I do not go out of my way to search for pumpkin flavored foods..
ReplyDeleteCrap! The last four memes were on my post for tomorrow. Now I have to go and change it. Why! WHY!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, have a great magical day, darlin.
Bwahahahahaha! In the war between the Pumpkin Spice and Apple Cider factions, I'm a chai girl. :D
ReplyDeleteSo funny. I like my pumpkin taste in real pumpkin food too. Pumpkin pie is one of my most favorite foods and I can't wait until Thanksgiving each year so I can gorge myself.
ReplyDeletePumpkin spice Tampax - I am cracking up.
ReplyDeleteLOL! You are too funny! I love mom's pumpkin pie! That's what I love! Happy Autumn Equinox! Big Hugs and many Blessings!
ReplyDeleteFunny, I read an article today about autumn and it mentions profusely how Starbucks took over ownership of the season commercially with its pumpkin spice latte:

Otherwise, happy equinox! I have been celebrating of course, although for me autumn starts on the 1st of September. Still, it's the equinox and it is worth celebrating it and everything autumnal.
Oh, and here is my own take on the equinox: https://vraiefiction.blogspot.com/2019/09/autumnal-equinox.html
ReplyDeleteI want to find a pumpkin spice condom - not that I have use for it, but it seems it'd make a nice collector's item.
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring Equinox, Debra and company.
Thanks for the good wishes, Debra, and right back atcha.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I can do without pumpkin spice.
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for the equinox!
XoXo
Hello Debra, I have never liked pumpkin pie, and pumpkin spice anything sounds abominable. However, I love pumpkin bread!
ReplyDelete--Jim
Happy Autumn Equinox Debra - I am not a fan of pumpkin but do like butternut squash.
ReplyDeleteI have been relishing our Indian Summer which now looks as if it might depart with the arrival of the Equinox.
I can't abide those anemic pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteNot a pumpkin fan. I love to look at them and carve them but I don't like to eat them. I especially do NOT like to smell pumpkin candles or room spray ICK!
ReplyDeleteIt's quite hard now to taste foods grown in the real nature.
ReplyDeleteI am with you! Love the Tampax
ReplyDeleteHappy Equinox, indeed. It's still hot here, but I can see the light changing and there are faint signs the weather might be changing soon.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'm a fool for pumpkin pie. Whether it's store bought or home made, it doesn't matter. I'll even take a pumpkin muffin or cookie, but I'll be darned if I'm going to drink a pumpkin beer or pumpkin latte. No. Dang, just no, man.
Oh, the Pumpkin Tampax made me glad I'm so old………….
ReplyDeleteI don't like pumpkin smell or taste.
ReplyDeleteOh sorry for being late my dear Debra
ReplyDeletebut i LOVED this hilarious post :)))
made me smile all the way wider and laughter
reminded me coming days of winter when my kids say this to me almost everyday
Oh no mom you put peas in pulse either lol
yes i love peas and i became obsess when they are available only hardly for few months :(
it's still hotter than satan's balls here..
ReplyDeleteSuch a funny post! I have always been lukewarm about pumpkin spice. I like pumpkin pie and pumpkin beers but they are not my favorites. Hopefully the carnage will me minimized this year.
ReplyDeleteI really don't like pumpkin. I celebrated the equinox by enjoying food and drink by my firepit. No pumpkin allowed.
ReplyDeletethese were fun; they gave me a smile
ReplyDeleteDitto on too much pumpkin spice Debra. I even saw it mixed with a ghost pepper sauce the other day and cringed.(lol) I also posted some pumpkin spice bread from Pepperidge Farm on my Instagram because it was a gift.(lol) Thanks for the funnies! Hugs, RO
