  7. I've never understood why people from the west make fun of socialism, it is the only system that serves the people not the rich few. My old country was socialist (which is why the west destroy it) and we had free schooling university included, free health insurance, free flats from the government, even state summer resorts for low cost and people of three different religions lived in it happily and in peace.

  16. I can always count on some good chuckles from your meme posts!!

  17. I used the 'gift not included' meme on facebook. It's a great meme. It's one of those 'why didn't I think of that' memes.

    The Ikea tree is perfect.

  18. Another great post full of holiday hilarity! I'll confess that I'm curious about the backstory on the note from the neighbors...

  19. Ok, never mind. It's a car muffler under the note. I thought it was a flask at first! LoL!

  22. Wow, that white cat in the car is soooo me! LOL!... and that little girl in bunny ears -- how the hell did you manage to get the last letter I ever sent to Santa?!

  23. I love these. The Christmas heroes and the Trump one are the best.

  24. Glad I came back again - these are hilarious! I love the batteries and the nutcracker, and anything referencing Christmas Vacation is funny.

  25. Fat Judgmental Bastard lol!!! That was the best one!! :)

  26. The Goldwater Rule prevents us from diagnosing people over the Internet, but Charlie Brown as bipolar? I'm not seeing it. He's got dysthymia at best, if not outright depression. Looking forward to kicking a football or flying a kite does not count as a manic episode.

  27. These are great, Debra. FUCK TRUMP! And yes, I've been naughty and it was so worth it.

    Love,
    Janie

  28. @ Old Lurker -- Yes, I agree with your diagnosis, Dr. Lurker. I thought the same thing when I first read this meme. However, alas, one cannot edit memes. You have to take them or leave them "as is." Otherwise, I'd be spending all my time correcting spelling and grammar, quite frankly, LOL!

  29. A Most Merry to you and a Happy New Year!!! *SMOOCH*

  30. HAHAHA! Loved them all but the 'gift not included', the muffler and the nut cracker really did it for me. It took a few seconds to get the nut cracker and then I couldn't stop laughing.

  31. That IKEA tree takes about a week to put together.

  33. I like the fat judgemental bastard one the best.

I have to take some issue with that "socialist" meme. Santa, the reformed Grinch, the reformed Scrooge, and George Baily are not, strictly speaking, advocating any type of egalitarian government, but rather charity. Here in the USA, people on the Right (of which I am not one) have long advocated private charity as a SUBSTITUTE for government goods and services (when they're not advocating for-profit private ownership as another substitute.) They would have no problem with Scrooge footing the bill for Tiny Tim's operation, just as long as socialized medicine is not involved. I've even seen right-wingers on C Span argue that Jesus didn't expect the government to help the poor. Again, I don't agree with these views, and wish the USA was more like Canada when it comes to social programs. For what it's worth, Dr. Seuss and Charles Dickens were left of center in their politics, I just don't think their Christmas stories are the best arguments for their left-of-center politics. I know I'm making too much of a simple joke, but the right-wingers wouldn't have the power that they have in the United States if they all acted like the unreformed Scrooge and unreformed Grinch. Even Donald Trump criticizes the rich, and he's hardly George Bailey, much less Jesus.

  34. @ Kirk -- Yes, you're absolutely right about the profound difference between private charity/philanthropy and socialism. As Ruthie Wilson Gilmore wrote, "Philanthropy is the private allocation of stolen social wages." Thanks for your perceptive comment!

  35. OMG, I chortled through the lot of them! You find the BEST memes!

  38. Now that America is run by the far right, kids will have to get their own presents.

  39. The gingerbread ones are great. I need to share those with my friend Ginger. But the rewrite of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" is the best. I guess it would be "Santa Claus is Coming to a Bar Near You".

  44. Under socialism, Charlie Brown would get the mental health care he needs, so it's all good. :D A Happy Fuck Trump to all!
