Hey, look at this cool Advent Calendar
that My Rare One gave me!
Instead of chocolates or candies,
this one is filled with cheese!
British cheese!
She got it at Safeway apparently.
It looks pretty classy inside, actually.
Each window is numbered between
1 and 24 in a countdown to Christmas,
the birthday of Baby Cheesus!
The window for December 1st
contained Cheddar cheese, yum.
Forthcoming cheeses include:
Applewood
Red Leicester
Double Gloucester
Cheddar with Caramelized Red Onion Chutney
Wensleydale with Crystallized Ginger,
Biscuit and Candied Orange Peel
Wensleydale with Sweetened Dried Cranberries
Obviously, my prayers have been answered!
It's going to be a tasty month!
What an interesting Advent Calendar. That's something I would love.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha
ReplyDeleteIn Queso emergency I pray to Cheesus! Witty!
Also, now I want and advent calendar that lets me have delicious cheese every day.
XOXO
Glad to see that Wensleydale is well represented, after being immortalized on Wallace and Gromit.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they do beer advent calendars.....
OMB, dr. spo would LOVE something like this! me, I'll take chocolate bottles filled with booze. have fun discovering a new cheese each day!
ReplyDeleteMy new favorite advent calendar! Reminds me of my favorite episode of Modern Family. The Baby Cheeses!
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!!! Do we have those here? You have no idea how appropriate this would be for my husband. The man has actually talked about taking a vacation based on cheese! Stilton blue is his favourite of all time. At the very least, I shall show him this post. -Jenn

ReplyDeleteOMG do you have to keep it in the fridge? I bought one of my friends an advent calendar with earrings this year :)
ReplyDeleteBut.... I would prefer the chocolate :(
ReplyDeleteThey should make one with a different type of beer each day, that would definitely be a Canadian sell out!
What a great advent calendar! You have better stores than we do!
ReplyDelete@ DEZMOND -- Yes, it must be refrigerated. It does take up a lot of space in the fridge!
ReplyDeleteGreat... constipation for Christmas. Help us, Cheesus!
ReplyDeleteDec. 25th Baby Gouda?

ReplyDeleteBest advent calendar EVER!! I'm going to look for one right now!
ReplyDelete(Also, Mitchell - that Modern Family episode is the first thing that popped into my head!)
Interesting. I've never heard of a cheese advent wreath. Being a chocoholic, I'd go for the chocolate every time. Hahaha
ReplyDeleteI need an M&M calendar. 24 M&M's on day one. 48 on day two. 72 on day three... and on and on.
ReplyDeleteDo you have to keep the advent calendar in the fridge?
ReplyDelete@ LL Cool Joe -- Yes, it must be refrigerated. But it makes my fridge look festive inside!
ReplyDeletePriceless! Love it! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI think my favourite Advent calendar would be one with beers in it. It probably exists somewhere.
ReplyDeleteWhat everybody else said.
ReplyDeleteWe never do those
ReplyDeleteHow fun is that? She knows just what you like. My Dad always told me....'all rats like cheese'.
ReplyDeleteLOL!! You and I are both sweet rats. :)
I haven't thought about advent calendars in years.
ReplyDeleteYeah give me cheese and I am a happy camper.

I am a big fan of the cheese...all types of the cheese. Advent Cheese Calendar. What a world we live in.
ReplyDeleteSplendid! These will build you up for all the Christmas cheer to come much more than chocolate sweets.
ReplyDeleteLOL!! How clever...DOes it come with crackers?
ReplyDeleteThat is the most interesting Advent Calendar I've ever seen. What fun!
ReplyDeleteI love this so much..I love cheeses..
ReplyDeleteOoh, I've never seen such a cheesy calendar.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every bite.
My Morticia wanted one but I'm right and refused to spend 8 quid on an advent calendar when my chocolate one only cost a pound. In the end her mother bought her one with chocolates until the 24th which has a mini bottle of prosecco.
