Here's a bit of rollickin' good piratical fun
to celebrate Passover (March 27 to April 4)!
The Jewish a cappella group Six13 has joined
the sea shanty bandwagon to sing a few
well-known sailing songs (with altered lyrics)
to celebrate the holiday and freedom!
Love the kippah-yarmulke-eye-patches and
spork-hand-prosthesis, LOL!
Hello Debra, Even if you don;t specifically celebrate, have a good Passover!

I wonder why sea shanty singing has taken off in such a big way during the Pandemic.
ReplyDeletefirst time i sand along lol
ReplyDeletewhatever it was i enjoyed it to fullest and had blaaast of fun :)
thank you for amazing uplifting sharing dear Debra :)
YOU ROCK!!!!
Perfect! Love it. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I'm sending this as a Passover greeting to some friends.
ReplyDeleteWell, there's today's ear worm!
ReplyDeleteHeaded over to watch this. Hope you have a great day, Debra! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome!
ReplyDeleteLoves it!
ReplyDeleteWe were celebrating Passover on Sunday (I'm Jewish by contact, Catholic by exertion) and this totally nails it!
XOXO
This is why I have to cut short my gin infused lunches with Anne Marie...she starts singing dirty seas shanties.
ReplyDeleteTOO much fun!!! TFS ~
ReplyDeleteI am a Catholic girl that was married for many years to a nice Jewish Boy - and I loved this !!! I celebrated many a Seder and this is adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteOh YAY!!! Clap, clap, clap!!
ReplyDeleteOy! The best mash-up yet! I was hesitant to click on it because that darned Wellerman is such an earworm, but it was worth it. And, omg, the three hour tour on the Egyptian Nile! Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteOY! gilligan's island!
ReplyDeleteI love me a good sea shanty!!
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me: My grandfather never ever paid me (nor anyone else) for stealing the afikoman. That must be how I lost my faith.
ReplyDeleteWe sing the original in choir
ReplyDeleteThis is better
Oh, that is such clever filk singing! And they got in those two cute kids AND Gilligan’s Island! You’ve done it again, Debra! I skipped across to their YouTube channel and subscribed.
ReplyDeleteHeh! That was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteA few musical Moshe Dayans there.
ReplyDeleteNow that, was worth pausing my blog scrolling for. Excellent mash-up and excellent video. If you celebrate, have a very excellent Passover.
ReplyDeletethis one is spreading fast; jolly good fun this is !
ReplyDeleteThey are great ..loved it!!.Will share with my Jewish friends..Such fun!!
ReplyDelete"Just when you think it's done, there's three hours more."
ReplyDeleteNo thank you. More than 45 minutes is overkill.
Pascha. Never celebrated even though there's a Jew in our family. He's very secular and I don't think he's practiced after his bar mitzvah.
ReplyDeleteThat is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, I hummed along with it! Love the eye patches and metal hand! The children are cute. Happy Passover if you celebrate.
ReplyDeleteOK, this is cool. I still miss rice though! (My husband and kids are Jewish and go hard core on the rules for Passover).
ReplyDeleteI get the feeling you like this song. :D
ReplyDeleteSo cool!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying this bandwagon ride, Debra! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteloooooooooove it
