" A bunny will make you happy!" my son would say when he pressed my last nerve Thank you for the Fluffle of joy! I enjoy the "March Hare" it is like looking in the mirror!
If a bunch of bunnies is a "fluffle" ... then what the heck is a "kerfluffle?" Only bored blog readers want to know!! LOL I love 💖 that first picture ... it truly is an "awwwwwww" producer!!
@ Marcia LaRue -- Your question intrigued me! The Online Etymology Dictionary says that "kerfluffle" (a word I certainly grew up knowing and using) means --
kerfuffle (n.) "row, disturbance," 1970; from 1946 as kafuffle, said to have been used c. 1930 in Canadian English, ultimately from Scottish curfuffle.
curfuffle (n.) "state of being disordered or ruffled," hence "agitation, perturbation," 1813 (carfuffle), first attested in Scottish writers, from a verb meaning "to disorder, dishevel" (1580s), of obscure origin, probably from a dialect word based on Scottish verb fuffle "to throw into disorder" (1530s). The first element is perhaps as in kersplash, etc. (see ker-); OED points rather to a Gaelic car "twist, bend, turn about".
Alas, "kerfluffle" does not seem to have anything to do with rabbits. However, looking online also revealed that "fluffle" is a "new word" originating, apparently, in Canada. We're such wordsmiths, LOL!
We have a resident rabbit in our backyard. It will keep a little bit of distance from us but has gotten used to us and won't just run away. I was out late the other night and there it was, just sitting there looking at me. I walked by it twice at about 6 feet away. It never budged.
My daughter had a rabbit in her teens. She named it Echo, but I called it Selma (from the Simpsons). Echo had a similar demeanor and growled like a chainsmoker.
Like yeah, AWWWWW - how cute! I love the picture of the little girl kissing the rabbit. That's a big white rabbit, too. I hope she doesn't follow it down a rabbit hole. Okay, I looked up fluffle and it's not in my dictionary. Are you snookering us? Okay, I did a quick DuckDuckGo and this is a term known to your Canadians and I would imagine anyone who lives along the Canadian border might be familiar to the word. Now, I wonder if any other southerns are like me. Hmmm....alright fact checked off, totally true, and so adorable! I really like the splashed painted bunny design. That's so cute. Your last two images cracked me up. lol Thanks for dropping by Curious as a Cathy today, my dear. Have a marvelous afternoon!
A fluffle ~ How perfect. Lots of fun things here, but the girl kissing the bunny is the sweetest. That is a big bunny! It reminds me of the big white hares that hop around Calgary in the dead of winter. Have a fun weekend!
My feeling about wild rabbits is pretty well summed up in that last photo.
ReplyDeleteLove it!

ReplyDeleteBaby bunnies, they're so darn adorable. One of my clients had some (they grow fast). The bigger ones, not so cute.
ReplyDeleteHow could you post that picture of me at the end? My ability to shape shift was supposed to be our little secret.... next time, I'm bringing my mace!
ReplyDeleteI love this post!!!

Adorable! The word fluffle sounds so perfect. I recently learned the a group of rhinos is called a crash. I'm not sure how that one makes sense.
ReplyDeleteThey are evil - pure evil. I am always rooting for the hawks, eagles and coyotes.
ReplyDeleteBunnies are cute but I would never keep one as a pet
ReplyDeleteIt's the long ears that make them cute. Without them they'd be groundhogs.

ReplyDeletesuch a cute and sweet post. Love all the rabbits especially the painting. It is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat was a really cute posting. I had no idea about a fluffle of rabbits. Trying to figure out how I can work that into a conversation. Hahaha.
ReplyDeleteThat rabbit pram sure is creepy.
ReplyDeleteWe have a fluffle of rabbit's in our back garden, and to be honest I wish they'd fuck off and dig up someone else's lawn. :D
Olivia wants a rabbit so bad, but they have a psycho cat and I'm pretty sure Rainbow will drive that bunny nuts..
ReplyDeleteAwwww! Wuv widdle wabbits.
ReplyDeleteOh the rabbits are gorgeous, especially the fluffle, they are just so cute.
ReplyDeleteLOL, all I could think of was Anya's song from the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. But that fluffle picture was hella cute.
ReplyDeleteLove them all Deb! Big Hugs!
