Action Figure Action!

So . . . I splurged on a few Marvel
action figures over the summer.

How could I resist
World War II Captain America
and Agent Peggy Carter?

HOW?

And because I enjoyed the recent Disney+ series
"The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" so much,
I also bought Baron Helmut Zemo
and a rather pissed-off Winter Soldier

(Zemo is holding the Soviet Red Book
containing the code words which turn
Bucky Barnes into the Winter Soldier).

And look what my sister
gave me for my birthday!

SQUEEEEEE!

Captain America Sam Wilson
in all his winged glory!

She said it was the most money
she'd ever paid for eight inches of plastic
that didn't also run on batteries and vibrate.

  1. We've got a big box full of such figures in the loft. I want to throw them out but evidently we are keeping them "for when we have grandchildren". I suppose if we do, I'll be the one that plays with them most.

  19. @ Sixpence Notthewiser -- Hey, what those action figures do on their OWN time is THEIR business, lol!

  20. @ Parnassus (Jim) -- If my violently-inclined dick flick action figures try to invade my Full Moon Altars, they will be repelled by Goddesses of War like Athena, Freya the Queen of the Valkyries, Ishtar and Durga. They've been kicking butt since forever.

  31. I haven't watched the Falcon yet. My daughter collects the bobbleheads of Marvel. I'm afraid I'm already invested in too many other collections to get involved but I really like the WWII figures.

  35. I remember it was in 3rd grade when teacher asked us 'who plays with dolls'. All the girls and I raised our hands. The class and the teacher were aghast. She asked me about this. I explained I played with GI Joes. The boys took umbrage, shouting they are not dolls they were action figures. Yeah right.

  37. Speaking of action figures, the little girl told her mom she wanted a Barbie Doll and a GI Joe doll. Her mother said that Barbie comes with Ken. Little girl said no, she fakes with Ken, she comes with GI Joe.
