So . . . I splurged on a few Marvel
action figures over the summer.
How could I resist
World War II Captain America
and Agent Peggy Carter?
HOW?
And because I enjoyed the recent Disney+ series
"The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" so much,
I also bought Baron Helmut Zemo
and a rather pissed-off Winter Soldier.
(Zemo is holding the Soviet Red Book
containing the code words which turn
Bucky Barnes into the Winter Soldier).
And look what my sister
gave me for my birthday!
SQUEEEEEE!
Captain America Sam Wilson
in all his winged glory!
She said it was the most money
she'd ever paid for eight inches of plastic
that didn't also run on batteries and vibrate.

haha...i like your sister!
ReplyDeleteWe've got a big box full of such figures in the loft. I want to throw them out but evidently we are keeping them "for when we have grandchildren". I suppose if we do, I'll be the one that plays with them most.
ReplyDeleteHa ha your sister has a wicked sense of humor. You must have quite the action figure collection.
ReplyDeleteLove them...but is the Captain America and Sam figures hung?
ReplyDeleteAnd I said the same thing your sister did during the pandemic of " was the most money she'd ever paid for eight inches of plastic that didn't run on batteries and vibrate."
Who knew they got so expensive girl?
Peggy Carter action figure! Wow! How cool is that!
ReplyDeleteI love action figures! These are awesome! I've gone with the 4" size as they are a bit more reasonable.

Hello Debra, I have never seen action figures that were so detailed and recognizable as real people before. Are your altars safe from invasion?
ReplyDelete--Jim
I liked the character Peggy Carter she handled those dressed up boys brilliantly! Keeping POP culture alive and well! Well done!
ReplyDeleteWell-those are great but I laughed right out loud at your sister's comment! Hope you and The Rare One are doing well and enjoying the last days of summer. Hugs- Diana

ReplyDeleteWow, you have enough "action figures" to make your own home movies now! May we expect your directorial debut soon?
ReplyDeleteNow your sister has a great marketing idea there, combining the action figure with some -- action.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone mentioned anything about your funny sister yet? I had a good LOL when I read that.
ReplyDeleteMy SIL has a Starwars collection. It looks like it could be good post fodder.
@ Travel and @ Breenlantern (Sassybear) -- Thanks for the link! Impressive DC superhero and memorabilia collection. I'm an amateur collector compared to you, Sassybear!
ReplyDelete@ Sixpence Notthewiser -- Hey, what those action figures do on their OWN time is THEIR business, lol!
ReplyDelete@ Parnassus (Jim) -- If my violently-inclined dick flick action figures try to invade my Full Moon Altars, they will be repelled by Goddesses of War like Athena, Freya the Queen of the Valkyries, Ishtar and Durga. They've been kicking butt since forever.
ReplyDelete@ Tundra Bunny -- Coming soon to a Porn Hub video near you!
ReplyDeleteYour sister is funny!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all your NOT dolls!
Agent Peggy Carter is dishy! I'd say yes!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I'm now a fan of your sister... cut from the same cloth, eh?

ReplyDeleteThese are all so cool!
ReplyDeleteAnd “She said it was the most money she'd ever paid for eight inches of plastic that didn't also run on batteries and vibrate” has made my day!
I haven't watched the Falcon yet. My daughter collects the bobbleheads of Marvel. I'm afraid I'm already invested in too many other collections to get involved but I really like the WWII figures.
ReplyDeleteYou must quote your sister more often.
ReplyDeleteI have an Action Man action figure. They are uber cool. I miss my old GI Joes.
ReplyDeleteHappy dusting! May your plastic action figures bring you many years of happiness.
ReplyDeleteI remember it was in 3rd grade when teacher asked us 'who plays with dolls'. All the girls and I raised our hands. The class and the teacher were aghast. She asked me about this. I explained I played with GI Joes. The boys took umbrage, shouting they are not dolls they were action figures. Yeah right.
ReplyDeletethose are reallly cool..I don't know why, but I've never been all that excited about the movies...but the action figures are way cool.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of action figures, the little girl told her mom she wanted a Barbie Doll and a GI Joe doll. Her mother said that Barbie comes with Ken. Little girl said no, she fakes with Ken, she comes with GI Joe.
ReplyDelete@ The Blog Fodder -- HAHAHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteI like your action figures. Captain America is impressive. Love your sister’s comment!
