Royal Roundup

Well, it's Victoria Day in Canada once again,
the date on which She Who Seeks blog
traditionally pokes fun at the Royal Family.

But, oh my, what a momentous year they've had!

First of all, farewell to Queen Elizabeth
after so many years of faithful service --

And welcome to Kay Cee Three,
who has served one of the
world's longest apprenticeships
for any job --

And then, there was
all the excitement
of the Coronation!

bewbin:

Truly such a beautiful day for their majesties the new king and queen may there rule be long and prospero- BLIMEY! ITS PRINCESS DIANA AND SHES GOT A STEEL CHAIR

They'll be hard pressed
to top this next year,

  2. Oh if only he'd had to juggle plates!

  3. That last one with Diana and the steel chair nearly made me spit my coffee out! LOL!!!

  4. Had I known he was going to juggle plates, I might have watched that whole mess. That last one with Diana took me by surprise. I opened this post with trepidation. I don't think I could cope with more adoration. Thanks!

  5. Those Charles Memes were excellent!!!! And one could say spot on.

But I disagree with the last one. Diana would NEVER!!!! Please, she would have had Chuck gift wrapped and a bow placed... and handed to Camilla, just to unloaded him and escape sooner.

  6. Hearing back from the recruiter is great! And wearing your mom's old clothes, too. All so good.

  7. It ended for me when the Queen died last year. Good luck Charlie.

  10. That morphing QEII was kind of eerie, the way the pensive look turned into the knowing (or is there a better adjective?) grin. --Jim

  13. Hahahaha the 'day of applying vs day he got the job' one!
Also, Diana would have shipped Charlie to that woman and her tampons a loooong time ago! She was way too classy.

    XOXO

  16. Thanks for the laughs. Given that he is older than me, I might just be able to see how his new job turns out for him.

  17. Funny memes and very on point. With Betty Deuce gone my interest in the family has dwindled. I don't give a hoot about the Philanderer and the Side Chick. Plus, we've got the most interesting British Royal here on the West Coast of the US.
    Thanks for the lolz!

  19. So if Charles dies, is she still the queen? Or do they bury her with him?

  20. @ Mike -- To give your question a serious answer, Camilla will remain a Queen for her life. If she were William's biological mother, then once he becomes King William on his father's death, she would be known then as the Queen Mother. But since she's not his bio Mom, I suppose she will then be called the Dowager Queen, which means a widow whose title is derived from her husband.

  21. Lordy, I need to show my son the job recruiter one. It's too real!

  22. Your memes have said what I wanted to say lol

  23. Love the memes. But I suppose I'll have to dust off my old copies of Bloom County and re-read about his adventures in Bloom County (comic strip from the early 80s).

  24. Poor Charles! Camilla will make him miserable enough to publicly admit to cheating on Diana.

  25. From skank to queen in less than a generation... but imagine putting up with that pompous stuffed shirt for 5 decades!

  26. These are funny! After Victoria, and Elizabeth 2, (thank you for your service) , the present royalty are lacking in a certain panache, a je ne se quois.

  27. That crown looks like it's giving Charlie a headache.

  31. Happy Victoria Day!! I am not sure how to celebrate or even if I am allowed to. I didn't pay much attention to KC III getting called up to the big show but I guess some people enjoy that type of stuff.

  32. I totally forgot it was Victoria Day/La Journée des Patriotes/Dollard/Whatever Day. Here in the UK, every day is Monarchy Day, and it quickly gets tiresome.

  33. I don't care if it harelips the governor. I don't care for Camilla. Not as a Queen or as the mistress.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Haha! Poor Charles ~ I'm willing to give him a chance, especially because he is a champion for the environment. The best one of all was the side chick one! Have a great week, my friend!
