    1. @ Tom -- Yes, it did, thank the Baby Jesus. This morning I'm making an appointment at my car repair place to get a new block heater plug attached.

  7. Charcuterie chalets are a great idea as some folks aren't crazy about sweets. I would add Cheez-its to the roofs, as there is nothing makes for a happy holiday like Cheez-its.

  9. We "finished decorating the house" (see photo above) and we will make donations to charity rather than BUY gifts and I'm NOT MAKING COOKIES this year, no matter who begs! Bah Humbug!

    1. @ Frank -- Oh, I bet if Leon wants cookies, you'll bake some!

  10. I should send my sister the charcuterie house. There is a holiday movie coming out about a kid who sends a letter to satan by accident (my kind of kid, my spelling stinks.)

  21. I'm not feeling very f*****g festive this year either, although the Xmas tree plungers did make me LOL! A great metaphor for our current reality.

  23. Yes, palpable lack of Christmas spirit here.

  26. The gingerbread dive bar is the best. That Italian’s gingerbread house is surprisingly unappealing given how much I like the ingredients.

    1. @ Marcia LaRue -- And Black Velvet is made right here in Alberta! (Lethbridge to be precise, near Calgary).

  34. Those gingerbread houses made of a charcuterie board are so fun! We actually did this last year for a holiday party. We left them up the next day when our carpet cleaners came and because we left it out overnight ( we were too tired to throw it away and a little tipsy I will add) he thought we had left it out all Christmas season long like a normal gingerbread house! ha! we assured him it was just for a party. Imagine how bad that would smell if we just left it out for weeks!

  35. The charcuterie chalet -- I just love it and want to do it!
