For this week's Friday Face OFF link party
of art featuring faces, hosted by Nicole of
DVArtist, Art, Food, Gardening blog . . .
Here's another portrait which I did
in my coloured pencils class.
This charming elderly lady is from the country
of Georgia in the Caucasus region of Eurasia.
Wrinkles are damn hard to do,
that's all I can say.
And I didn't even put all of hers in!

...or smirking?
ReplyDeleteI think you did quite nicely, especially around the eyes.
ReplyDeleteYour art always inspires me to start up again... and then I don’t. Another beautiful drawin.
ReplyDeleteWrinkles are not hard to acquire though. Great job, Debra.
ReplyDeleteYes, wrinkles are difficult. Good job
ReplyDeleteYou aced those wrinkles, and I know what you mean about drawing wrinkled faces. Baby faces are heard for me too. Have a super weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a nice portrait!
ReplyDeleteFull of character.
XOXO
BRAVO!
ReplyDeleteShe looks like someone I'd like to know.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she won't hate you for leaving off a few wrinkles. Through your drawing skills, you are better than Oil of Olay.
ReplyDeleteReally good.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if she would recognize herself if she could see this!
ReplyDeleteI think she is lovely with all or just some of her wrinkles.
ReplyDeleteHer face says she's just about to tell me something that I might not want to hear, like I've put on weight? Or perhaps I have something in my teeth?
Wow, that really came out good.
ReplyDeleteThe best face and expression! And I love all the purple in her clothes!
ReplyDeleteWrinkles, hard to draw, easy to get.
ReplyDeleteYou succeeded very well with wrinkles 👍🏼super painting all over 🤩
ReplyDeleteI agree wrinkles are difficult. You did a great job though. BTW I love the eyebrows. This is an excellent piece. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done!
ReplyDeleteYou're rocking that class. Well done -- I love the texture and you can really sense her personality.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! She has such a great expression. I agree about wrinkles - I once tried it and it looks terrible. You did really well!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Debra! When I look in the mirror I agree, wrinkles are hard to do! 😂❤️
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic. She looks like she knows a funny secret and won’t tell
ReplyDeleteShe is just so gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteLove love how you captured her character...number of wrinkles be damned.
ReplyDeleteCodex: Quite good, especially with colored pencil. How long did it take you.
ReplyDelete@ Codex -- There's about 6 hours worth of work in that one.
DeleteLovely portrait. I've not tried doing one with dry pencils.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this! Well done!
ReplyDeletehonestly, your portraits are amazing! ~*~
