Alas, no one successfully identified
this hunka hunka burnin' Spanish love.
Well, in all honesty, my likeness of Antonio Banderas
isn't all that accurate, is it? If I didn't already know
who this was supposed to be, I wouldn't have
guessed it correctly either, LOL!
Some of the submitted guesses were quite plausible,
though, such as a young Marlon Brando,
Nicolas Cage, Steven Seagal, etc.
I missed the "contest" but I loved the wrap up! Thanks for popping by the other day, Debra!
ReplyDeleteI was waaaaaaaaaaaaay off!
ReplyDelete...thanks Debra, the GIF are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou did a lot better than I would have done!
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed the previous post - in which visitors were invited to guess the sleb you had painted/drawn. By the way, I like your style - quite accomplished.
ReplyDeleteHi Debra, I have heard of Banderas, but I wouldn't know him from Adam. For fun, I decided to download your artwork and put it in the Image Search (I would never do this during the guessing stages, but it turns out it would not have helped much, anyway). Banderas did not come up at all, but the first "matching" image was this one:

Talk about a Freudian nightmare! Apparently everything you draw is secretly a female nude! We'd ask Dr. Spo for his professional opinion, but I am sure he would charge his standard fee, and most likely we could diagnose this "entre nous."

@ Parnassus (Jim) -- I understand that the Google search function is now essentially run by AI and everyone's complaining about how it's not worth a damn anymore. If this doesn't prove that point, I don't know what does, LOL!
DeleteHi again, I am not 100% convinced about the inaccuracy of AI. Have you ever seen Banderas and a naked woman in the same room together? I see from the photo you posted that he was in The Phantom of the Opera. I assume that he played Christine Daaé, since all his photo-identifications were unclothed women. At any rate, as far as I am concerned, there is ONLY ONE Phantom--Lon Chaney, Senior.

p.s. The binding strip really looks like it was part of the original photo--great job on that! --Jim
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious! Great reveal.
ReplyDeletedon’t blame anyone for not guessing Antonio Banderas—he’s a tough one to capture! But now that you say it, I totally see the resemblance (kind of ).
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing all the wild guesses too—young Marlon Brando and Nicolas Cage made me laugh. This guessing game is such a great idea, and I can’t wait to see who’s next.
@ Parnassus (Jim) -- This is how conspiracy theories get started, you know. SO GO TO TOWN WITH THIS ONE! I'm all for gender identity fuckery! Just think of all those MAGA panties that will get in a twist about it!
ReplyDeleteActually, your drawing is pretty close to the photo. I think that it's a profile is what threw everybody off.
ReplyDeleteLovely portrait ~ thanks,
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

I missed out on the guessing game. I enjoyed the follow-up post though. I love seeing your art work! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI say let's see Banderas craft YOUR portrait and see how he does, ha!
ReplyDeleteJeebus, were you drunk when you drew this?
ReplyDelete@ Tundra Bunny -- No, but maybe I should have been -- it might have helped!
DeleteAh, good ol' what's his name. I should have known.
ReplyDeleteSo, not Adam Driver huh? I think it's the lips. Your drawing has fuller lips, not that there's anything wrong with that. My drawings always come out as stick figures with daisy heads.
ReplyDeleteToo bad I missed the contest.
ReplyDeleteLove your portrait.
I would have never guessed it, I only recognized the name. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun activity! I love ❤️ your creativity. Hugs, RO
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised I didn't get it - 'movie stars' is one of my worst Jeopardy categories. Lol.
ReplyDeleteI can see it now.
ReplyDeleteIf it's any consolation Antonio's photograph doesn't look like him either. 😂 Fun reveal, Debra!
ReplyDeleteYes! I was almost there. Unfortunately, almost doesn’t count, except in horseshoes and hand grenades.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest I recognised Antonio with second blink of eye 🤗
ReplyDeleteYea hubby and me are fan of him 🥰
Damnit. I hate losing!! Now I can totally see it!
