For this week's Friday Face OFF link party
of art featuring faces, hosted by Nicole of
DVArtist, Art, Food, Gardening blog . . .
Here's a freehand ink and ink wash portrait
done in art class this week based on a
xeroxed photo provided by the instructor.
As you can tell, I misjudged the image's
placement on the page, so you're seeing
the sketch book's coil binding too.
I don't know how truly accurate a portrayal this is
of the actor in question, but if you want
to take a stab at guessing who it is, go ahead!
I'll hold back any comments
with correct answers until tomorrow,
when all shall be revealed and Gold Stars
awarded to anyone who gets it right!

Sorry, I don't recognize the actor you're painted,
ReplyDeletebut you did it wery well ππΌ
Happy FFO ππΏ
Ohhh
ReplyDeleteIs it Nic Cage?
XOXO
I was thinking Nicholas cage too.
ReplyDeleteThat is really good! And I think the coils actually make the portrait more interesting beside it.
ReplyDeleteThe hair and eyebrow is all wrong for him, but for some reason Robert Downey Jr was the first thing that popped in my mind.
...I'm clueless as to who this stern dude is!
ReplyDeleteA young Marlon Brando
ReplyDeleteKevin Costner
ReplyDeleteHarrison Ford perhaps?
ReplyDeleteJayne
Marlon Brando?
ReplyDeleteI'm getting Dermot Mulroney .
ReplyDeleteHe looks like my favorite actor Joh Bernthal from American Gigolo series.
ReplyDeleteLooks sorta like Daniel Day-Lewis to me. I also find it very hard to see the gigantic E on the eye chart. So, there's that.
ReplyDeleteSorry to say, but your "misjudgement" makes the work TOP!
ReplyDeleteNot a guess who it is but I love the mixed style. A very young Gerard Depardieu?
Guess my comment will pop up immediately...
I can't even hazard a guess. And I'm with Maddie - the coils add to the work.
ReplyDeleteIt’s driving me crazy because he looks so familiar!
ReplyDeleteDont know who this person is, i will hsve to visit again tomorrow
ReplyDeleteI posted late today, sorry

ππ ππ What a rollercoaster you put me on..."I know, wait, I know, I doubt." My final answer is Warren Beatty. π¬π€
ReplyDeleteA young Marlon Brando?
ReplyDeleteA great blend of artistic growth, community fun, and good humor looking forward to seeing who the mystery face is
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and creative post!
First, the portrait is wonderfully executed. I am getting so many different actors so I will not take a guess. Please tell us who it is. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like one of the Soviet players from the 1972 Russia-Canada Summit series, but then I reread your post and it's not a hockey player, LOL! Back to the drawing board for me...
ReplyDeleteIt's a fantastic portrait, all brooding and surly. I'm not good at actors but I'm going to guess Ralph Fiennes... (shrug)
ReplyDeleteDermot Mulroney?
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing a younger Marlon Brando too.... but its impressive no matter what - stick man is more my level
ReplyDeleteI have no idea but the drawing is very nice.
ReplyDeleteI have no clue! π
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure who that is.
ReplyDeleteIs it Sebastian Stan?
ReplyDeletei'm getting tom cruise vibes
ReplyDeleteYou've fooled Google Image... and me.
ReplyDeleteIs it Nicholas Cage? He has a lot of forehead these days.
ReplyDeleteSteven Segal (spelling?)
ReplyDeleteHe reminds me of Humphrey Bogart!!
ReplyDeleteThe head and the hair!
Nice challenge Debra,
your drawing is very beautiful!!
Adam Driver?
ReplyDeleteHi Debra, If this is a recent actor, I would have no way of knowing. It certainly isn't William Powell or Richard Barthelmess! Your portrait does have the uncanny look of illustrating a particular person, so I am looking forward to the answer so we can compare!

I'm not really up on actors, but wow, what a fabulous face! The lips remind me of a young Brando though.
ReplyDeleteNice portrait.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea who this is, but the portrait is done so well. It's excellent.
ReplyDeleteAh it is hard for guess,I can’t guess to any of I am familiar with π
ReplyDeleteI think the image drifting into the side of the paper/coils was genius! Is it a young Brando?
