Alas, Winnipeg's famed whiteouts could not freeze the Anaheim Ducks to the ice. The Ducks swept the series in four games and the Jets are now eliminated. But the games were always fast-paced, hard-hitting, exciting hockey. Well fought, Jets!
I am now switching my playoffs allegiance to the Calgary Flames, who are just on the verge of pounding the Vancouver Canucks into oblivion. So boys, bring that same aggression to the Ducks matchup in the second round!
GO FLAMES GO!
Ducks is such a funny name for a team :)
ReplyDeleteAh, bummer. Go Flames? Yeah, sure, go Flames (that's a pretty bad name for a team unless there's some backstory I don't know, but it's still not worse than the origin story of the dumb Ducks, so let's go with it).
ReplyDeleteSucks your team is out but at least they went out with a fight, and you can pick a new one to keep enjoying them playoffs.
ReplyDeleteWell that didn't go well the first time around. I hope your next choice does better!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed that this is the one! In the meantime, how about some peach, raspberry, and almond muffins?
ReplyDeleteBummer! I feel your loss.
ReplyDeleteBut I am a big Canucks fan from waaayyyy back. So go Canucks!
i feel your pain. we lost last night too. one more game and we should all be licking our wounds until next season. i realized as i was dragging my sorry ass to bed last night that watching these games is a lot like gambling. i kept staying up for just 10 more minutes hoping we would score. i did that into overtime and as i headed up the stairs i felt much the same as i do when i blow a bunch of money at a casino. damn! all that wasted sleep!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you, Debra, when I heard this on CBC sports this morning.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Calgary will do the job.
Those damn Ducks.
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!
Boyfriend watches snippets of all the games...
ReplyDeleteBut he is into the Blue Jays right now...
As the LEAFS sucked!! hahaha!
Enjoy your day..
cheers!
Linda :o)
How sad! Hopefully the Flames can pull it off!
ReplyDeletei saw the highlights of the game on the sports channel. Sad, sad day. But there is always next season.
ReplyDeleteHi Debra......I love it that you are OBSESSED with hockey! LOL
ReplyDeleteJo
Quack Quack. :)
ReplyDeleteOne less wise-quack... fire it up!
ReplyDeleteSo far the Habs have done fairly well.
ReplyDeleteSorry you're out..Go flames..
ReplyDeleteI rooted for them..got to see the last game...I love the Jets fans..so much..I kinda been rooting for Ottawa..but will root for your flames..as I really don't have a dog in this fight.
ReplyDeleteSorry to read, Debra.
ReplyDeleteHey Debra,
ReplyDeleteMy human Gary, a VANCOUVER CANUCKS fan, was routing for the Atlanta Thrashers, sorry, Winnipeg Jets, to beat the Disney Ducks. Take care, eh and arf!
Penny
Dezzy apparently never heard of the Mighty Ducks
ReplyDeleteYou've switched your allegiance, so I have too. Go FLAMES!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry about the Jets, Debra! It's heartbreaking to have your team eliminated in the first round... that's too soon.
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I'm sticking with Montreal Canadiens for now.
If you say Flames, than Flames it is! First came The Mighty Ducks, and then came the team, eh? Hope you're feeling better, Debra.
ReplyDeleteJulie
Guess it's better than rooting for Toronto.
