Sure, an' tis a grand day for to be gettin' drunk and havin' that tattoo done what ye've always been hankerin' for. Ye know that St. Pat hisself would approve, now. Faith, an' ye should have seen what HE had tattooed on his arse, the old divil what was. Go now -- the Guinness awaits ye.
[Reposted from 2010. So sue me, I was busy this week and didn't have time to write anything new. I figured a Blast From The Past would suffice!]
[Also, just to be clear, I can use Irish stereotypes because I have Irish heritage myself *hic* so feck off!]
Ha! I thought I was all Scottish and English until my DNA test came back and showed a little Irish, too. Happy St. Patty's Day, Debra!
ReplyDeleteno irish here (czech, austrian, british), but you have a nice holiday!
ReplyDeleteHappy St Patty's Day! Being 75% Irish I get away with those stereotypes too. When I am being difficult, it gets blamed on my Irish stubbornness.
ReplyDeleteHappy St Patrick's Day. Don't forget to put something green on today and wake up tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThe Irish people really hate it when people get drunk on St Patricks!
ReplyDeleteYee-Haw! Happy St.Patrick's Day!
ReplyDeleteHappy St Patrick's Day ♥
ReplyDeleteI want to get a tattoo of St. Patrick's Face on my ass so I can sit on his face everyday. BWAAAHAHAHAAAHAHAAAA! Gawd I'm so terrible.
ReplyDeleteMy father's father was full Irish. In his honor (rogue that he was) I am making 'feck off' my phrase of the day. At least until the corned beef is ready.
ReplyDeleteGoing to pass on the Guiness and go right for a six-pack of 805! (To honor the other 75% of my heritage!)
Happy St. Paddy's to you as well. Servin' my Irish grandmother's recipe for Chicken and Dumplings, by way of the South, don't ya know.
ReplyDeleteHappy Irish American Day! Applies to all of North America, btw.
ReplyDeleteTop O the Morn' Debs.......and have my share of the greenin beer!!! Tonight ill make a corned beef and cabbage dinner, even though that's not technically Irish
ReplyDeleteTop o'the mornin to ya! I myself have only Scottish heritage but I did marry an Irishman so by default I am an honorary Irish person today. :) I am listening to the Champion Christy Moore today and planning on a big Irish feast tonight. :) *hic*
ReplyDeleteOooooo, nice tattoo! I have nary an Irish gene in me, but fake it on St. Patty's Day. Being mostly of British/Welsh/Scottish/French stock may make that sacrilegious, however.... More reason to do it!
ReplyDeleteThat's right, Debra. If you have Irish heritage, you are free to do this. Happy St. Patty's Day.
ReplyDeleteHappy St-Patrick's Day. I am Irish by association. My husband is Irish and my son is part Irish, French Canadian, and part Brit LOL!
ReplyDeleteIrish by association as well, and on St. Patrick's Day we'll celebrate by eating corned beef Reubens and not talking about our feelings.
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patrick's Day!
ReplyDeleteSt. Patrick can kiss my pagan ass.
ReplyDeleteMy wife is part Irish but I'm a Viking!
ReplyDeleteIt is (was) my dad's birthday. His nickname was . . . wait for it . . . Pat! The tallest, darkest-skinned Pat ever, and not one bit Irish.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Happy St-Patty's to you too :) I have a zest of Irish in my Scottish-Canadian blood :)). We'll be having some lovely Irish Coffees later. No more tattoos for me though, I got a few done in my salad days and my pain threshold has disappeared!! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThis was very nice compared to the pictures of drunken people in green. Happy St. Patrick's Day
ReplyDeleteYou'll get no lawsuit from me, Debra! We all do what we have to do to get by. Love the Celtic tattoo. "Top of the morning'" to ye!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great Paddy's Day, Debra.
ReplyDeleteHey Debra,
ReplyDeleteWhat's the craic, eh? Hope you had a good St. Patrick's Day. Time to go listen to the Irish Rovers, methinks.
Gary
Happy St. Patrick's Day Debra!!!
ReplyDeleteBeing genetically half (or 52 percent to be exact) Irish, I decided to relive Irish history by having half of me beat up the other half.
ReplyDeleteHappiest St. Patrick's Day - new or old - love the post.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a fun day!! I had a fun night dj-ing.
ReplyDeleteYer alys good fer a laugh!! A blast from the past is always welcome..Who remembers?? Alto some of your stuff is pretty memorable!!
ReplyDeleteYou Irish are all alike!!....from a fella whose Hebrew male ancestors landed in what is now Ireland, married the local women, eventually added a Mac to their last name of Isaac....pesto! MacIsaac Irish!! Go figure!
ReplyDeleteHope your holiday was yummy. Now, I shall look around my friends' profiles to see if anyone got a tattoo on her forehead.
ReplyDeleteBelated happy St Paddy's Day! The Irish don't mind if you joke about them: they are cool like this.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit of everything ... Northern European, Eastern European, and a pinch of Ashkenazi ... my mama won't talk about it ... so who cares cuz I'm here ... Have a very smiley day, friend D ... Love, cat.
