Thank Gawd and the Baby Jesus that I have Irish blood so I can make fun of the Irish on St. Patrick's Day!
Hey, don't give me your politically-correct gimlet eye. Them's the Rules of the Game and you know it!
Oh, thought I couldn't work superheroes into this post? Well, think again!
the unlucky leprechaun!
ReplyDeleteHello Debra, Happy St. Patrick's Day! To celebrate, here is a link to Tom Lehrer's The Irish Ballad:

Wait! I just listened to that live performance of Lehrer's Irish Ballad, and realized that the verse about the sister was left out! Here instead is the better and intact studio version:

Happy St. Patrick's Day. May the luck of the Irish be with you.
ReplyDeleteno irish here; I always wore orange on 3/17 to piss off the nuns in school. the unlucky leprechaun is the best.
ReplyDeleteI’m not sure which bit of you is Irish but you have the gift of the gab.
ReplyDeleteJP
Happy Saint Patrick's Debs. Nothing new here, I've been doing Irish flu shots all year. The unlucky leprechaun!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's just me, but I'd kiss Steve Rogers any time, Irish or not.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'd love one of those green shirts, such gorgeous colour!
ReplyDeleteIn other news, I wish Chris and Hiddles would shag each other!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Irish flu shots are a beautiful thing!
ReplyDeleteMy Irish husband has become Italian by osmosis...my Italian cooking. But I do make the corned beef and cabbage once a year.
ReplyDelete@ Parnassus -- Thanks for the link to "The Irish Ballad" -- I had not heard that particular little morbid ditty before, LOL!
ReplyDeleteLeprechauns are clever little fellows. I'm sure the one jumped aside and came back for his bar of gold.
ReplyDeleteWear green today

Well now that's what I'm willing to celebrate - my Irish Heritage. Bless you and yours for giving us a name other than that of a bloody Brit Christian who came over, unasked, invaded and destroyed all the old ways. I never understood why such a destructive creature deserved either a day named after him or a celebration. Well maybe puking green beer into the gutter is what the meddling bastard deserves. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI smiled all the way through this, Debra. I think my favorite though was the little paper by the kid (I am sure it was a school paper) on what they would do if they found a pot of gold...tooooo funny!
ReplyDeleteHave a great St. Pat's Sunday- xo Diana
So glad to be back. I've missed you!
ReplyDeleteIf I found a pot of gold, I'd shit too. Then I'd pick up that entire bucket of Irish Flu Shots. Happy St Patrick's Day!
Ahh Loki. The man of our dreams. I'd wish you a happy St Patrick's day but I'm a pagan. So a pox on all religious nuts and their saints.
ReplyDeleteHappy Ts Paddy's Day!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Molly. The BEST St. Patty's Day artwork ever!
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patty’s Day, Deb! ☘️
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day, Debra.
ReplyDeleteThe unlucky leprechaun! BAHAHAHAHA
ReplyDeleteI don't need a special day to drink Irish whiskey.
ReplyDeletethe Ol'Buzzard
I am all for the Iris Flu shots you show here, never mind the coffee though.
ReplyDeleteSanta going incognito made me laugh!
ReplyDeletehulk one hahaha
ReplyDeleteyou are soooooooooooooooooo FUNNY!
so enjoyed the all fun here dear Debra!
happy st Patrick's day my friend!
hugs!
My wife is of Irish decent, I've never gotten the obsession with Paddy's Day though. We don't do the same on St David's, St Andrew's or St George's.
ReplyDeleteI'll stick to celebrating my Viking heritage by celebrating Odin's day - benefit being that it's weekly!
They credit St. Patrick with driving the snakes out of Ireland, but there were never any snakes in Ireland in the first place, so I guess that was just PR.
ReplyDeleteAnne Marie: I always wore orange on 3/17 to piss off the nuns in school
Doubtless the noblest cause for which the color has ever been used.
Happy belated St Patrick's Day.
ReplyDeleteYou are on a roll with the memes! Love these, some real chuckles amongst them!
ReplyDeleteI'm old and get sloshed on wine coolers. Have a couple of drinks for me, because I can't hold 'em at all.
ReplyDeleteBeen Irish all of my life and I have never seen a Leprechaun ๐☘๐
ReplyDeleteBut...I have seen green ๐บ ☘ ๐ป
These are brilliant! LOL! Thanks Deb!
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patrick's Day!!
Green is good. Green Lizard shot, Green Daiquiri punch
ReplyDeleteGeez I forgot it was St. Patrick's Day. Maybe I should have worn green. Actually not sure I have anything green. I hope you had fun!
ReplyDeleteYou find some good ones!!
ReplyDeleteJust to say, WAYAYLES!! But we love the Irish too.
ReplyDeleteThe lightening strike at the end of the rainbow says it all to me.
ReplyDeleteIrish flu shots!! That's the best. LOL
ReplyDeleteI like the shirt I saw - you pinch me I punch you!
According to genetic testing I am Polish, Ashkenazi, German, French and Irish … so I will have Kalbassa and beer, Gefillte Fish and beer, Sauerkraut and beer, Crรจme Brule and beer and Irish Stew with Green Beer … smiles … Love, cat.
ReplyDeleteA great collection, Debra! The little kiddo Molly and her pot of gold really cracked me up. I low how little kids are so pure and unfiltered! My father, a Scot by ancestry, swore by Scotch whiskey to cure anything. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI can probably stop celebrating now ...... till next year.
ReplyDeleteI am late to the party but thanks for the LOL's!
