Here in Canada, we celebrate
the birthday of Queen Victoria
every third Monday in May.
Why?
Because she was Queen of Canada when
modern Canada was created in 1867.
And we are nothing if not good colonials,
loyal and classy, eh?
And today there is no one
quite like Queen Elizabeth II,
is there?
Or as HRH the Cat calls the other HRH,
"my cousin Betty Windsor."
Yes, Betty does have a restraining order
against HRH but, I ask you,
what family doesn't feud 'n fight?
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious!
Well, that's THAT for another year.
That first photo is adorable! 💗
ReplyDeleteAnd that first GIF... EVERYTHING. 😃😄
Keeping riches that your ancestors have earned through slavery and murder does not really make Betty nor Vicky great ladies, on the contrary, both are ebil witches.
ReplyDeleteKeyboard Cat is amazing. I never knew how the song ended. The rest? Wonderful. Happy Victoria Day!
ReplyDeleteThat last one slays.
ReplyDeleteQueen Victoria represents her extended era in a way that no other person has achieved. Still, many of the things given her name have negative connotations--Victorian morality, Victorian prudishness, Victorian shoddy machine-made workmanship, etc. Still, we can be grateful for the good things--for instance, the Victorian era was largely the golden age of the cornet.
ReplyDelete--Jim
We will trade you one _rump for either of your HRHs.
ReplyDeleteI second bob. a grand lady and a fat slob.
ReplyDeleteVery cool cat.
ReplyDeleteHappy Victoria Day!
hahaha...so funny!
ReplyDeleteI love these. She is such a grand lady.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute and funny tribute to Queen Victoria!
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of mad that I don't have any restraining orders against me.
A good day to start the biography of Victoria I picked up at the library sale a few months ago.
ReplyDeleteI find it interesting that the three Queens, Elizabeth I, Victoria, and Elizabeth II, were none of them expected to ever come to the throne, and yet they did so when they were quite young. Imagine being raised for and expecting one kind of life, and then having all that responsibility heaped on your shoulders.
All good until the last one.. ugh! Remember the good old days when she could have sent him to the dungeon!
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha
ReplyDeleteThe Dear Dracula meme, thoug...
And a day year old squirrel would have more experience than IMPOTUS.
XOXO
I love Keyboard Cat! What a talent! What a good-natured feline!
ReplyDeleteAs for Betty Deuce, the Queen of Shade, she has more military experience and more experience of Everything! Especially compared to that puffed up dung heap walking next to her. I mean, she actually served in the military - no bone spurs for Betty!
Funny damned memes... 'Be aware she can move in any direction' made me laugh.
Cheers!
LOLOL.... great post and pics - and...humor! love your blog.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you enjoyed a good old cup of English tea and a large slice of victoria sponge to celebrate the day.

ReplyDeleteIt's hilarious seeing her in these photos, especially next to the dumb fat orange mofo. Happy Queen Victoria Day.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen was wise to file that restraining order. We know how wild HRH can get.
Cheers!
I keep waiting for her to say, "That's it! I've had enough of this crap. I quit!"
ReplyDeleteThose are great - especially the Queen on the chessboard!
ReplyDeleteBack in the day Victoria Day was a big thing - community picnics, flags, bunting, games, sometimes a decorate your bicycle contest, fireworks and family. Now it seems to be pick up a 24 and open the cottage. Well maybe not this years but ...
ReplyDeleteOh my God, I literally LOL'd at Keyboard cat! And the chess joke!
ReplyDeleteShe looks so tiny next to the Frump.
ReplyDeleteI totally forgot.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the inclusion of the orange fool.
ReplyDeleteDear Dracula. Hahahahahahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteMy family are all die-hard Royalists. And also die-hard fans of the British parliamentary system after watching the dumpster fire across the border
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine the over dinner conversation between Betty and Trump?! I'm sure she must by now have perfected the art of switching off when necessary.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE, LAWV, LURVE THIS POST! And now for first time I understand an old short story where some soldiers in outpost of empire got drunk "on Victoria Day" and with their pistols shot an HRH design in the wall. Thank you, Queen Debra.
ReplyDeleteevery since 2016 i've wished we had your queen
ReplyDeleteLove the Queen. Any lady who can repair a military vehicle in pouring rain and dropping bombs is truly worthy of her role in history.
ReplyDeleteOMG...that cat!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if I could request that Uber if I need one!
ReplyDeleteAs usual, some great pictures! Did you know that Kim Newman wrote a series of books set in an alternative universe where Dracula survived, married Queen Victoria and made becoming a vampire hugely fashionable?
ReplyDeleteWe only have the Queen’s Birthday here, Down Under, in June. It’s not her birthday, but it is the official start to the skiing season, I hear!
It's gonna be rowdy in the colonies once we are free to go about as we please!
ReplyDeleteThose last two!!! BAHAHAHAHA Oh my gosh, hilarious.
