Yes, Edmonton now has a blanket of snow once more.
And, as usual, the roads are hazardous.
No one in their right mind likes winter.
When laying in supplies for blizzards,
don't forget the Storm Chips
digging out your driveway and car.
And here's the worst part --
There is only one advantage to cold weather.
Oh, who am I kidding?
When I was younger I loved winter. These days, though I still appreciate some aspects of it, I find the season difficult to deal with and I long for spring. Here in New York we have a ways to go before it hits. Hopefully it will be a mild one.
ReplyDeletei never said i was in my right mind. I LOVE IT! it's 34 here this morning and i have all of my doors and windows open. i am in my element!
ReplyDeleteThe last one! HAHAHA Yes, definitely would participate in that :) I'm just not ready for the snow!!!
ReplyDeletePoor you.
ReplyDeleteSnow, the novelty wears off after a day or so, then it is just cold and inconvenient.
ReplyDeleteSnow? Wow! If we get snow it's usually not until January and then it's rarely anything except a 24 hour panic. Makes me appreciate the rain even more. Stay warm!
ReplyDeletesorry to hear winter has arrived in the great white north. the cat paws pix is the best.
ReplyDeleteSNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNO offense sister but keep it. We're suppose to have a mild winter here again.
Hello Debra, I recall winter only too well. I lived in the "snow belt" part of norther Ohio, which meant that when the rest of the city got a light dusting or nothing at all, we were buried under several feet of snow. The worst part was dealing with the people who kept saying "Aren't the lacy trees pretty!" when you've just come back in after an hour of shoveling the driveway.

The dog in the hat is killing!!!
ReplyDeleteWe almost ... ALMOST ... had to turn on the AC yesterday!
I am so glad I don't live in snow country anymore. These are nice reminders why. LOL
ReplyDeleteWe are near zero today minus the snow. Not for long though. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteBWAAAAHAHAAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAAA!!
ReplyDeleteThese are so great! I love them and I'm stealing the pink puppy meme.
You make me so glad I live in Florida lol!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I found your website but you are a godess-send. Whenever I am down I find my way to your website and inevitably laugh to tears reading you entries....thank you.

Sorry, I don't have a google account nor a website so the only way I can leave a comment is clicking on Anonymous.
Thanks for the laughs I needed them. Our snow has stayed in the mountains cause we have it trained. LOL

Seriously? It's still October. But we are due for a winter "preview" in New Mexico tonight into Tuesday (coming in from Canada down the Pacific coast and then a sharp hook upward into New Mexico). Snow up to 6 inches predicted for our area and temps in the 20's (F). We'll likely be in shorts and t-shirts a week later.
ReplyDeleteOh man they keep saying we could see flurries today not here for it! Keep that snow up North.
ReplyDeleteYou've got snow?! I'm still in my shorts!
ReplyDeleteLove the oil painting and the difference between how youngsters dress and we dress!
We haven't had our first frost yet. We might have two or three weeks to go. And as always, I am not looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteLOL! My feelings exactly! It's the same here in Minnesota. After this crappy year we all deserved another month of nice weather! But no 2020 has to carry on as the biggest *&%*/# ever!
ReplyDeleteOh, poor you! I sure don't miss that. It looks so beautiful to me when you share the pictures... because we're experiencing our first burst of winter with sunshine and temps in the mid 60s! The cutest "nope" is hilarious, and I'm a sucker for high-brow poetry.
ReplyDeleteOur Summer Tires Club set a new record of 19 collisions in one afternoon last week... what a bunch of maroons! Their winter driving technique never seems to evolve from bald summer tires and, "It's icy and snowing hard, let's drive faster!!"
ReplyDeleteI want a pink knitted Fraggle hat too, if only to freak out the Summer Tires Club as I drive by in my 4WD SUV with winter tires! LOL!
Living in St. Louis, we are on the edge of the 'global warming not much snow' line. We used to get snow and it would stick around for weeks. Now, even if we get 4 or 5 inches, it's gone in a couple of days. Sometimes I don't bother shoveling the driveway because I know it will melt. I just stay in for a couple of days.
ReplyDeleteafter 6-7 months of ardent temperatures we can finally open the windows and turn off the AC
ReplyDeleterumors have it we drop to 10C at night this week !!!
I'd be happy to send you some of our summer if you'd send some of your cold. I'm really tired of summer now.
ReplyDeleteCarry on, 2020;
ReplyDeleteI had cousin who use to live in Fort McMurry but moved a bit south, not sure where. It was cold here in North Idaho woke up to 12 (11-)
ReplyDeleteSnow???!!! Oh my dear woman, you have my sympathies. And here I am down here whining because it is gray, drizzling and in the 40s!
ReplyDeleteWhere I am we went from 70s on Friday to 40s on Saturday, and I found that traumatizing enough WITHOUT the snow, so I feel for you.
ReplyDeletehaha
ReplyDeleteeach one made me laugh dear Debra
i can imagine how extra cold weathers annoys you
i loved winter always i have always but now health issues restrain my longing for winter but i still love the charm of not much harsh winters of our's :)
well hibernation has it's own positive attractions :)
I can't believe you guys got snow before Halloween!
ReplyDeleteIt's supposed to be mild here. But it's Chicago, so anything can happen. I'm not looking forward to winter. I'm literally that kitty.
XOXO
Ugh.. I know. It's starting to get chilly here too.. but no snow yet..
ReplyDeleteYou get a lot more snow and cold then we do..
Loe the "Nope" and dressing for winter - that's me.
ReplyDeleteIf you love winter you have never had cattle.
Lucky you..It may be awhile before we get it...usually!Love the "nope"..says it all.....and the "snow predicted..I can't believe that people let themselves get so low on that stuff..It's rare these days that we are snowed in..Maybe one day..ENjoy your week..
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing now....it will be a different story when it reaches us down here.
ReplyDeleteWe've got snow and a high today of 17 degrees Fahrenheit so I hear you Debra. However by Friday and Saturday, we will be back to fall weather again.
ReplyDeleteWe've got fresh snow on the mountains but it hasn't troubled us in the valley yet. It's cold though; it dropped down into the upper 20s last night (-2c). I'm all bundled up like that sensible duck. Love the memes, love the NOPE.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the cheer, despite the ass-biting weather!
Come down for a visit and thaw out! ;)
ReplyDeleteWinter here in California is much the same as our summer, except for some bits of rain. As long as the house is heated, and my outer wear is all ready, I'll be fine.
ReplyDeleteMy parents told me it is snowing in their part of the world. I am waiting for the pictures.
ReplyDeletewas 51 today...loving it..
ReplyDeleteProbably won't see snow until the 1st of the year here (knock on linoleum) and fortunately for me, when it does come I won't need my bad-ass winter driving skills as much, 'cause I'll be happily retired by then, so my venturing out will be curtailed by 65%.
ReplyDeleteStill got some kick-ass pics from storms gone by, so if I ever long for snow, I can just look at those. :D
But it looks so pretty. (from the comfort of my warm house!)
ReplyDeleteBee safe out there!!
Still haven't had snow, or even first frost here. But it's definitely darker and some days require sweaters.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was cancel that order. I actually pulled out a pair on long pants today but it is supposed to be back in the 80s next week.
ReplyDeleteI'll take that pink outfit, Debra! I'm getting so depressed looking at my very long white roots, and it looks like it will be a long time before I can go to a hair stylist. Nope is priceless!
ReplyDeleteThat was pre winter....I am liking this week so far!!
