Ugh. Winter. AGAIN.

Yes, Edmonton now has a blanket of snow once more.

And, as usual, the roads are hazardous.

No one in their right mind likes winter.

When laying in supplies for blizzards
don't forget the Storm Chips
along with the other necessities of life.

Soon you'll wear off all those calories
digging out your driveway and car.

And here's the worst part --

There is only one advantage to cold weather.

Oh, who am I kidding?
THIS is how I'll look in reality!

Time to follow the
only possible course of action
to get through this --

  1. When I was younger I loved winter. These days, though I still appreciate some aspects of it, I find the season difficult to deal with and I long for spring. Here in New York we have a ways to go before it hits. Hopefully it will be a mild one.

  4. Snow, the novelty wears off after a day or so, then it is just cold and inconvenient.

  5. Snow? Wow! If we get snow it's usually not until January and then it's rarely anything except a 24 hour panic. Makes me appreciate the rain even more. Stay warm!

  8. Hello Debra, I recall winter only too well. I lived in the "snow belt" part of norther Ohio, which meant that when the rest of the city got a light dusting or nothing at all, we were buried under several feet of snow. The worst part was dealing with the people who kept saying "Aren't the lacy trees pretty!" when you've just come back in after an hour of shoveling the driveway.

We almost ... ALMOST ... had to turn on the AC yesterday!

  10. I am so glad I don't live in snow country anymore. These are nice reminders why. LOL

  11. We are near zero today minus the snow. Not for long though. Ugh!

  16. Seriously? It's still October. But we are due for a winter "preview" in New Mexico tonight into Tuesday (coming in from Canada down the Pacific coast and then a sharp hook upward into New Mexico). Snow up to 6 inches predicted for our area and temps in the 20's (F). We'll likely be in shorts and t-shirts a week later.

  17. Oh man they keep saying we could see flurries today not here for it! Keep that snow up North.

  18. You've got snow?! I'm still in my shorts!

Love the oil painting and the difference between how youngsters dress and we dress!

  19. We haven't had our first frost yet. We might have two or three weeks to go. And as always, I am not looking forward to it.

  20. LOL! My feelings exactly! It's the same here in Minnesota. After this crappy year we all deserved another month of nice weather! But no 2020 has to carry on as the biggest *&%*/# ever!

  21. Oh, poor you! I sure don't miss that. It looks so beautiful to me when you share the pictures... because we're experiencing our first burst of winter with sunshine and temps in the mid 60s! The cutest "nope" is hilarious, and I'm a sucker for high-brow poetry.

  22. Our Summer Tires Club set a new record of 19 collisions in one afternoon last week... what a bunch of maroons! Their winter driving technique never seems to evolve from bald summer tires and, "It's icy and snowing hard, let's drive faster!!"

I want a pink knitted Fraggle hat too, if only to freak out the Summer Tires Club as I drive by in my 4WD SUV with winter tires! LOL!

  23. Living in St. Louis, we are on the edge of the 'global warming not much snow' line. We used to get snow and it would stick around for weeks. Now, even if we get 4 or 5 inches, it's gone in a couple of days. Sometimes I don't bother shoveling the driveway because I know it will melt. I just stay in for a couple of days.

  24. after 6-7 months of ardent temperatures we can finally open the windows and turn off the AC
rumors have it we drop to 10C at night this week !!!

  25. I'd be happy to send you some of our summer if you'd send some of your cold. I'm really tired of summer now.

  26. I had cousin who use to live in Fort McMurry but moved a bit south, not sure where. It was cold here in North Idaho woke up to 12 (11-)

  27. Snow???!!! Oh my dear woman, you have my sympathies. And here I am down here whining because it is gray, drizzling and in the 40s!

  28. Where I am we went from 70s on Friday to 40s on Saturday, and I found that traumatizing enough WITHOUT the snow, so I feel for you.

  29. haha

It's supposed to be mild here. But it's Chicago, so anything can happen. I'm not looking forward to winter. I'm literally that kitty.

  35. We've got snow and a high today of 17 degrees Fahrenheit so I hear you Debra. However by Friday and Saturday, we will be back to fall weather again.

    ReplyDelete
  36. We've got fresh snow on the mountains but it hasn't troubled us in the valley yet. It's cold though; it dropped down into the upper 20s last night (-2c). I'm all bundled up like that sensible duck. Love the memes, love the NOPE.
Thanks for the cheer, despite the ass-biting weather!

  38. Winter here in California is much the same as our summer, except for some bits of rain. As long as the house is heated, and my outer wear is all ready, I'll be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  39. My parents told me it is snowing in their part of the world. I am waiting for the pictures.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Probably won't see snow until the 1st of the year here (knock on linoleum) and fortunately for me, when it does come I won't need my bad-ass winter driving skills as much, 'cause I'll be happily retired by then, so my venturing out will be curtailed by 65%.

Still got some kick-ass pics from storms gone by, so if I ever long for snow, I can just look at those. :D

    ReplyDelete
  41. But it looks so pretty. (from the comfort of my warm house!)
    Bee safe out there!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Still haven't had snow, or even first frost here. But it's definitely darker and some days require sweaters.

    ReplyDelete
  43. My favorite was cancel that order. I actually pulled out a pair on long pants today but it is supposed to be back in the 80s next week.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'll take that pink outfit, Debra! I'm getting so depressed looking at my very long white roots, and it looks like it will be a long time before I can go to a hair stylist. Nope is priceless!

  45. That was pre winter....I am liking this week so far!!
