I've learnt it as a child, but I don't remember it was so complicated, are you sure you're learning bridge? :) Kanasta is way more complicated... but also way more fun.
I think that's why I was never fond of games--so many arbitrary rules. I prefer building up different structures in my mind, like doing research to recreate how things were long ago. --Jim
Being part of the diplomatic and expat community in many places it was expected that you played bridge. It was also expect that you'd have a martini at 1700 and that you'd probably have an affair with someone in the community's spouse. I could never understand bridge - hell I have trouble with Bingo! Affairs are too complicated, too many people get hurt. The martini thing - change it to a bloody Caesar and I'm in! I was never a very good diplomate!
I refuse to play partner games. I don't think on a logical scale and my attention span is almost nonexistent these days. I would always let my partner down.
I had the same issue with pinochle (another game for people 55 and older) back in the day. Also had the same problem with cribbage, which never stuck with me.
But, I do enjoy the occasional Gumby every now and then.
Ha! My parents used to belong to a bridge club - I was the only one in the family that did not do well with card games. The only thing I took to was cribbage, which is as exciting as watching paint dry.
They used to print a Bridge column in the SF Chronicle, maybe they still do. I used to read it and just be completely baffled. It might as well have been nuclear physics. Why would a game be so complicated?
Loved contract bridge but haven't played it for many years. My late wife was my best bridge partner. (We also wallpapered together). finding other equally untalented players is always a problem. Learned it at University and skipped many a class
LOL, sometimes a simple clip says it all. I never knew bridge was a complex game. Think of how awesome it will feel once you have all those fiddly rules down.

Hey, that's the way to learn new skills. Keep going so hard that you're dreaming about it.
I've never learned bridge. In fact, don't know anything about it. Never give up though. The rewards of learning a new skill are awesome.
One of my favorite "lines"!
Anything that makes my wee brain ache is a hard pass for me!

So does mine! Well, sometimes.
Hysterical. I just learned to play pocket and I always have to ask for confirmation >_<
Lol. Be sure you wear a hankie tied around your head when you play!
Oy, I applaud you for taking it on. I couldn't, wouldn't, won't.
A great week to you.

I agree with Deedles … Love, cat.
After doing battle with my computer, my brain always hurts. Sometimes it cries.
I absolutely know absolutely nothing about bridge..
but you must..and I say you must watch Letterkenny..promise me.
This is what Republicans say when they have to read facts.
Never even tried!! Rummy is enough for me ~
LOL at Neko Random! Or when the dump has to read briefings...
Good luck with your endeavor, and more power to you!
You can do it!! I have no idea to play any card games except 52 card pickup that sucks!
I am not very good remembering rules at card games. except Solitaire and, to a lesser extend, poker.
I have not tried bridge but if there are too many rule, I would not like it! Good luck!
Too many rules would drive me crazy!
I used to sort of know how to play. All I remember now is that it's a bit like Whist but waaaay more complicated.
Haha! I get the "My brain hurts!" Hang in there, Debra!
I wish I knew how to play bridge.

I hate a pile of rules these days. Maybe it’s my decaying brain now.
...except for one-eyed Jacks.
Mine too
the Ol'Buzzard
HaHaHaHaHa...Enjoy!!
That pain is just your brain stretching, you'll get there.

I don't know diddly squat about Bridge. My mom loved it and was good at it but I didn't have an interest to learn
I've mastered Snap. Is Bridge similar?
It looks to me like you are having a blast. Stop pretending. You are enjoying the too-many-rules torture. Admit it! Then, massage your poor brain.
Somehow I don't think I can have patience for bridge.

Good for you to take Bridge on. Wouldn't it be more advantageous to learn a card/dice game played at casinos?

Ah rules!
If you mean UNIVERSAL RULES SET BY NATURE
THEY are to Protect you :)
I'd rather go to the dentist than play Bridge. :D
Ha! Love Python!
Debra you are so funny! LOL! Good luck my friend! I don't know anything about bridge!!!
The ancient greeks comedies are full up with fart jokes; they will never go out of style.
