For this week's Friday Face OFF link party
of art featuring faces, hosted by Nicole of
DVArtist, Art, Food, Gardening blog . . .
Another offering from the
"Portraits in Coloured Pencils" class
that I'm taking right now.
This little Tibetan girl is done
in light umber and dark umber
on fawn paper.
I never seem to learn NOT to use
dark umber as a skin tone but,
oh well, once again it seemed
like a good idea at the time.
To my mind, this girl is quite reminiscent
of the famous Les Miz logo featuring
the little French waif, Cosette --
I think it's the solemn look
and that hair blowing in the wind.
