sent me this photo that his daughter took of
a house in her neighbourhood --
Other people photographed this
stunning Pride display as well
and it quickly went VIRAL!

So this inspired me to roam around
MY city of Edmonton, Alberta to see
what kind of Pride displays I could find!
This Progress Pride Flag crosswalk
is located downtown a block from my place
by MacEwan University --
Also a block from my place, these Pride Murals
were just painted on a building at NorQuest College.
This one celebrates the transformative journey
of transgender people --
This one honours indigenous two-spirit people --
"Let Pride be your umbrella!"
I snapped these Pride Balloons
at my local Save-On Foods supermarket --
Lots of stores and restaurants around the city
hang Pride flags in their windows, but some
go the extra mile such as this paint store --
Here's a nice window display at a bank
on Whyte Avenue (one of Edmonton's trendiest
shopping, bar and restaurant scenes) --
The bank right across the street from it,
not to be outdone, wrapped its
entire building in all the Pride colours --
So colourful! I love it!

Those are wonderful! We are practically neighbours - I saw your comment on Busy Bee Suz blog and here you are, in Edmonton! I'm in Calgary. I haven't been out much but I have noticed some lovely pride displays around here as well. It makes my heart happy.

It's in Andersonville, a very cool neighborhood, BTW.
I've found Pride displays in the local Mall and in some unexpected places this year. I have the only Pride flag flying in my block, though. It's very white and very Repug here. Nevertheless, I persist.

It must be liberating to live in a very progressive city. I think our house has the only Pride Flag in the town (population <500) and, although most here are very progressive (Dems) it is not very demonstrative. We (our house) display the flag all year. Happy Pride...it is the last day of June!

I saw the same house on Bob's blog and then just had to share it on my Instagram stories. That was amazing! Im tickled anytime I see gay pride finery anywhere but it's even more heartwarming when it is a private home...that really shows how many of us there can be, even in area where we think were alone.

Hello Debra, Thank you for a whole month of colorful Pride events. It was especially appreciated since we can't go out much here, but although there are plenty of gay&c. people in Taiwan, there is not much public display of signage and the like.

I'm pleased to read the comments on the paint brush house pride picture. I followed the link about the background story. It certainly took talent and time to have come together so nicely. I'm all for increased awareness and acceptance.
These are beautiful and life affirming. I hope, like the bank on Whyte says, that it's PRIDE 365. 'Rainbow washing' for the month of June is not the same as being an ally all year, every year.

I watched the news story on the paintbrush. Very touching, and love circles back around...They're giving 100% of fundraiser profits to the Trevor Project. I know the man who started the Trevor Project, after his son in Chico died by suicide. Chicago->Chico.
