A one mile radius encompassing my house is often a major meeting place for a multitude of murderous crows (helps to have the mountain involved). The in tune serenade is simply a wonder to behold.
I love the prank caw. I love crows. In Sherwood Park there is a treed area by the Superstore, and the crows roost there at night. It's amazing watching them all gather at dusk.
The meme about the old friend would spook be me. I absolutely love ravens, black birds and black cats. I don't know why people dislike them. And Ravens are highly intelligent.
@ angela -- That's why the Tower of London staff ensure the ravens' wings are clipped so they CAN'T fly away. Even omens need a bit of practical assistance!
My sister has a crow friend at her studio. Every morning he comes to the door and she tells it if she has any peanuts that day, Depending on what she says, he leaves or waits for her to produce peanuts.
OK just last week, that pranked by a crow happened with me. What's more, the crows in the tree also give a warning cry when a human approaches and keeps at it until the human leaves. If you leave food for the sick crow, great. Else, they are on your case.
I love the corvids. Omens, bringers of warnings or news, tricksters, and friendly neighbors where I live. I have a crow friend who watches me when I'm outside in the yard, and sometimes likes to stand on a window sill and see what I'm doing inside. We chat at times but I have yet to truly grok their language. Still trying, though!
Love that entrails needlepoint! Would def have gone to a crow party!
Crows are so intelligent. Look on YouTube for videos of them solving puzzles. North American Ravens are huge and very smart too. Europe has sort of a combination of the two, internediate in size. I loved when they congregate in the trees around our place in the fall. Thousands of them. The racket is incredible.
Hello Debra, These are all great, and by coincidence (or is it??) when I was just looking up of all things a British pianist on Youtube, they recommended this interesting video on ravens vs crows:

The one about the rule of thumb for corvids: That’s exactly how I figured it one day in Yosemite National Park. Smart birds and beautiful up close.
Prank caw wins!
I'd come to your crow party. Caw-Caw.

...wiggle when you walk!
We feed some local crows in winter. Such smart birds! Love them. The memes are great!
That corvid sashay is everything; she is fierce!
You got to give such an adaptable, intelligent family like the corvids credit for scamming humans.

Love the way that crow struts his/her stuff.
🤗 I'll come to the crow party if that hip-swingin' corvid is hired as the exotic dancer!!
I lvoe corvids in general. And sicne The Simpsons' Threehouse of Horror, I cannot take Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven seriously.
I can definitely relate to the Spirit Animal.

I’m the uk. The story is if the ravens leave the Tower of London the monarchy will fall. They’re not a bad omen. They’re a great one

These are terrific. (I once saw a raven flying with a small garbage bag. They are something else.)

I'd rather go to your crow party than a hen party.... and I really could've used that cross-stitched entrails sign on my office door at work, LOL!

i love all of these. i'm still hoping to make one a pet!
I'd go to that crow party! Love the rule of thumb. We also have jackdaws here though. And the crow pretending! Brilliant.
The bird doing the runway walk has got to be AI.
Raven is on my wedding ring.
I like crows and raven.
They're said to be among the smartest of birds.
Now that's a mouth full of fries!

@ Parnassus (Jim) -- Thanks for that link. Everything anyone could want to know about the differences and similarities of ravens and crows!
Prank crow...cute...and the murder
That corvid sashaying along the porch rail is so rediculously cute.
I've always struggled to tell the difference between a Crow and a Raven, so this clears things up! I do love them both though.
