Friday Face OFF -- Silhouette Cats

For today's Friday Face OFF link party
of art featuring faces, hosted by Nicole of

Before I did last week's light-and-shadow portrait
of the Winter Soldier, I wanted to test
my newly acquired white ink pens and
see how they were to work with.

I had a couple of photos of back-lit kitties
in my photo reference file, so I drew them first.
They were fun and pretty quick to do!

These drawings are wonderful, Debra!

WOW-Those are amazing, Debra. They remind me of the art that was so popular years ago where they did the black cut out silhouettes of people-children usually-cut out of black paper, mounted on white background and framed. I like this even better..just simple and sweet. You have an eye for it!

I love these. White pens on black paper...it doesn't take much to make some wonderful art, does it?

@ My name is Erika -- I like that the black paper does most of the work in creating the effect, lol.

Debra you are just showing off now. Ha ha ha. Just joking. I'm so impressed and amazed at how you simply sit down and create the most interesting and beautiful images. Free hand!!!! A true artist with a creative imagination. I would love for you to share your supplies with SITAR this week. The paper, the white pens for sure. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity with FFO and have the best weekend.
