See... with Heated Riverly there was nothing new to see there! And that this story is real makes it all the better!!! And the lesbians have the balls to go public with it!!!!!!!! Or should that have read the pucks to go with it?
On a side note, I am hoping countries cream us in most categories. A terrible thing to say, but you know it would piss off trump. And that would make me feel better. LOL!
Speaking of hockey, I love that "Heated Rivalry" has put a new spotlight on the relative lack of lesbian love stories in media. Second-class citizenship in their own community, to be sure. A great article about it in Salon: Lesbians see something in "Heated Rivalry" that TV still won’t give them - Salon.com https://share.google/iPVbgfxkD4rAw5dSy
@ Cleora Borealis -- That's very true. Women's experience and stories are generally devalued compared to men's. Especially if there are no men involved in the story at all.
The absolute best news I'll read all day. And let me reveal the thorn that's been in my side for decades. The passage that said, "They remain deeply involved in mentoring the next generation of players." Teaching that generation to become accomplished hockey players, NOT teaching them to become lesbians, as so many despicable humans imagine when they see gay couples with adopted children or children that they have carried.
I love their love story so much! Definitely a Heated Rivalry precursor. In other skating lesbians Olympic news, Hillary Knight, captain of the US Women's Hockey team and Brittany Bowe, medal winning Olympic speed skater, got engaged at the Milan Cortina Olympics. Love wins!
You can't teach a child to be a boy or a girl. They will be one or the other, but not necessarily as they appear. Any sane person knows that fact of nature, but therein lies the rub. Sanity is a rare commodity in too much of the US now.
I'm glad young women today are free to be openly LGBTQ and able to openly start families. I was 60 years old before I could say lesbian. I was 40 before I could say gay.

What a great story!
@ Mistress Maddie -- Lesbians have clitzpah!
OMG!
Love it!
The secrecy, though. That must have been brutal.
XOXO
Clitzpah? OMG woman, that's a terrible pun:)
I didn't know about this couple and I'm happy they found each other. I'm glad the world is changing.
Real life and love.
That's a great hockey story. What great women.
Huh, one might get the feeling that Reid was inspired by them.
I agree: GO CANADA!
I LOVE this! What a beautiful couple and what a beautiful family they've made.
🤣 "Clitzpah!" I can't breathe!

I did not know this. It is a fantastic story! I will share your post!!
This shows you love has no borders. I say Go Canada and Go USA.

And, seriously, Go Canada!
Yes, go, Canada! And go, Ouellette and Chu!
Love this story. However we need a win down here. Please beat up our president and his cult, not our hockey team. :-)
@ e -- How wonderful about the engagement! I had not heard this!

Beautiful, Debra.
I wasn't able to watch the hockey game, but I heard it was a great one.
This is great, thank you for it. I didn't even know anything about it since I don't usually follow sports.
Wonderful story. It was a great game!
Thanks for sharing, Debra. I loved reading about these two wonderful people and the lives they have made. It was a great game today.
This is all news to me but good for them!
Love is Love wherever and with whomever it happens.
Go Canada! Though I'm not a fan of sports.

I don't know a lot about ice hockey, but I love how this story has evolved! Happy endings all around.
What a great story!
What a wonderful story. It’s a beautiful thing when love blooms and just like the fairytale. They lived happily ever after.
Let's get one thing straight and two things gay (I love that saying), this is an excellent story. Really, really nice. Love it.
An interesting story.
Thank you for sharing this and educating us Debra. Silver is better than nothing, now our men need to bring the gold home. Hugs.
What a wonderful story of love.
