For today's Friday Face OFF link party
of art featuring faces, hosted by Nicole of
I was browsing through an old file folder of
photo prompts and found this forgotten
pen-and-ink sketch of a snowy owl
that I did 3 years ago.
It's just done on white bond paper
because I intended to redraw it later
on watercolour paper and then paint it,
but that hasn't happened yet.
Maybe someday? Who knows?
In the meantime, here it is.

I always love your creations.
Sweet friend Debra I feel stunned with your awesome art always ๐
This snowy owl is beautifully drawn and looks so charming ๐ฅฐ๐
I think the black and white version is wonderful as it is.
I’m a sucker for owls ๐!
Cute owl sketch! I like how you drew the lines on the tree to give it dimension.
...Debra, it looks fabulous.
This is the best (and only) snowy owl I saw this year. :) I like this.
I love the simplicity of the owl and I lovelovelove the tree bark!
I'm with Duni ~ the owl is adorable; the tree is Fantastic!!

I like it the way it is. No watercolor necessary.
All your work is wonderful!
Own in Tree. Both deserve capitalization.
☺️ Your owl obviously has a cheeky personality and I want to get to know it better. Lovely work! ๐ซถ
In the chicken coop on the farm, along with my grandfather's pool table, was a stuffed owl. The pool table was moved to Florida, the owl sadly went to the dump.
Nice expression and well done ๐ฅฐ
I'm waiting for your watercolor version ๐ฆ
Enjoy Easter time ๐ฃ๐ฐ๐
@ Travel -- That must have been a huge chicken coop to accommodate a pool table! I hope the owl was mounted high up on the wall so it could keep an eye on who was cheating or not at pool.
Cute owl as is!
It is wonderful, Debra.
Oh its lovely!! Keep it just as it is!
Awesome owl creation '~ divine in b/w ~ Hugs ^_^
Being a snowy owl the white suits her - but I sure would love to see what you can make of the artwork!
Gotta love an owl.
Catching up on your posts. How did I miss so many?
Oh, you have got to redo it.
Love the trace.
XOXO
Hello Debra, Your owl looks like an illustration of something--perhaps it could be an illustration from a children's book.
--Jim
@ Parnassus -- The original that I based it on was an arty kind of greeting card.
I like it!
That owl looks suspiciously like the one on cards I've sent to you and Maddie.... I guess inspiration can come from anywhere, LOL!
@ Tundra Bunny -- Yes, the original I drew it from was a greeting card, so it must have been from you, if you remember the image!
Nice owl, I like it.
I love the owl.
OMGosh this is awesome. I'm so impressed how you work with ink. Mine would be a mess. I have to be able to erase. LOL This is really beautiful. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have nice weekend.
The textures!
The owl sketch is looking so good
Love it, Debra! Your line work is exquisite. Blessings!
Come on Debra. Get off your ass and make that picture as you intended!
Wise ole owl
I absolutely love ❤️ this owl ๐ฆ Debra.
The owl looks pleased, as if he dive bombed a mouse recently.
Love,
Janie
I love it! Looks very similar to a card I received during the holidays! I told you it would make for great cards!
@ Mistress Maddie -- Tundra Bunny sent me the same card and yes, it was the basis for this drawing!
Love the owl, giving that considered almost judgy glance.
Love the tree, the bark is so textural.
I like that curly bark on the tree and the snoozing owl.
That's amazing. You've captured real character.
I really like the expression on the owl's face
I love owls! My favorite!
