(P.S. NOT by Leonard Cohen)

So many groaners that had me chuckling.
"Hike who?"
I died.

Hilarious dear Drbra
When I wake up,I don’t know if I will be alive till the night, isn’t that reason enough to celebrate each day 🤗🙏

I love the Calvin and Hobbes one. And what a stupid question to Leonard Cohen.

Finally an explanation of why cats sleep much of the time.

I laughed out loud at T. Eliot! That and the Invincible Moose... But, really, they were all good!

I love these!

I don't know which one to pick as my favorite. Toilet is soso funny. Haiku is great. Wish I knew someone to share it with. The Moose sign is outrageous. I can see it would make sense but is it real. I'll have to google it. Great collection.

Hike who? Lol.

Sooo Canadian!

Thanks for the much-needed laughs this morning. That 'Hike who?' is definitely going into my permanent collection of dad jokes! I also loved the line about poetry in translation being like taking a shower in a raincoat—that is such a perfect, frustrating image. It’s a great way to celebrate National Poetry Month without it getting too stuffy. Hope you have a great day of 'enlightened' reading!

Not being Canadian I don’t get the moose one
Or hike
Might need to ask doctor (Google)
Or it just might be a tad early for my brain to start firing lol

Remember all those poems we had to memorize in school?

@ Jackie McGuinness -- I STILL remember some of them!

I will continue to read poetry. I will continue to laugh in my head while reading these jokes. They are sublime!

Dear Debra, I am not a huge fan of poetry...BUT I love Leonard Cohen! Not sure if you have seen any documentaries on him, but there is one in particular I think you will really like (if you haven't seen it). Although I do appreciate some poetry, I just can't say that I like enough to consider myself a fan.
Thank you so much for this post and the smiles!

@ Linda's Relaxing Lair -- Yes, I adore Leonard Cohen's poetry and music and have been a huge fan since I was a teenager in the 1970s. And I know he is Montreal's Favourite Son! Thanks for referencing that documentary -- it is a wonderful one!

Debra, he sure is. He is well loved here. There is a lovely mural downtown with his portrait. It is beautiful.
I am so glad you liked the documentary, dear friend.

I didn't notice about T.S. Eliot's name. You get to learn something new every day.

Have a lovely day.

I didn't notice Eliot, either. Mixing memory and desire on a warm day.
