I love how the Olympic Rings were suspended from Tower Bridge in London. It will be an iconic image for years to come, I'm sure.
At the beginning of August when the moon was full, some clever photojournalist got this fabulous shot of a new ring --
I like to think that it is an Olympic salute from the Greek Goddess of the Moon, Artemis, Herself one of the original Olympian deities. Plus a notable athlete and archer as well.

that's a lovely sculpture!
That is a lovely shot of the moon suspended there just so. I think things went well this year. We won a gold medal, so the gods must have been involved.
That is the coolest pic!!! I hadn't seen that before...
that might just be the coolest thing i have ever seen!
Oh wow, that is such a lovely picture!
I wonder if there have been other "moons" hanging it over the bridge when people take pictures.

I haven't seen that picture either. I really love it and I'm glad you shared it. I love where they put the Olympic Rings - the perfect spot for all the world to admire!
Is that a Roman sculpture? Looks sort of Eastern.
This is amazing! Thanks so much for sharing this! Beautiful picture of our Lady Moon ;o) Gorgeous sculpture!
Hello -E- and everyone else who likes this sculpture:
She was created by the American sculptor Paul Manship in 1924. Her official name is "Diana and a Hound." I think she has a real Art Deco feel. Paul Manship also created the famous sculpture of "Prometheus" at the Rockefeller Center in NYC (1933).
Wow..Gorgeous !! powerful tribute..and that last image is stunning! very empowering! I have always felt an affinity with her!
Beautiful Deb!
