In 13th century Italy, St. Francis of Assisi started the tradition of nativity scenes so that people would identify more with the true meaning of Christmas.
But hey, that was then and this is now. Everything's gotta move with the times, man --
So make your own nativity scene relevant to our modern society!
Even fanboys and nerds need salvation. You can't just rely on a motley crew of characters from Star Trek, Star Wars and cartoons. Or can you?
THIS stable made it all the way to Oz apparently. No, not Australia!
Of course the feckin' Irish always have to make it all about THEM --
And finally . . . .
Hail Mary, full of grace! Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the Grumpy Cat of thy womb.
Oh yeah, SOMEBODY'S gonna burn in hell for that one alright.

BAHAHAHA! What a fun post. I especially love the one with Grumpy Cat!
Ha! Too, too funny. Love the pop can one, and love your Irish comment!
LOL! The Coke one is great, but I find them all very funny :-).
How is the internet still working after Aubrey Plaza posed with Grumpy Cat? The one with all of the action figures is fraught with errors, but I'll put my geek anger away for now.
Aim for their heads, baby Jesus. LOL!
This is absolutely hilarious!
Very funny - Love Deanna and Will as Mary and Joseph!
I never know how to translate it because we don't have it here :)
"NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA BATMAN!!!
Hahahaha you got me with the Irish one. When it comes to religion we do think we are Gods chosen people. We're not producing Priests like we used to though. We're actually now having them imported from other countries now. And it's a real problem as we can't understand their fecking accents :0)
Love, Love, LOVE the Trekkie/Star wars/Cartoon Nativity! Gotta have me one of them!
The Irish Nativity is (typical) hilarious! Except, where's the beer?
And Grumpy Cat! :o)
Now brace yourself, but would you believe I used to put a nativity up for years? Only reason was because it reminded me of my young childhood. Still have it, but it hasn't seen the light of day for a while now. And you can't forget about a all Smurf nativity....i saw one once.
I thought the effing trees were funny...
But you have untapped the potential and uncorked the seasonal
funny...
I'll never recover!
What? The three Irish wise men aren't bringing gifts of Guinness and Bushmill's?
well sure now, everyone knows that every Irish mother is a virgin and a saint! Mine was!
Fun post..Love the grumpy cat!!
Poor pagan children, ie Ry. We were at a junk store. The cute donkey from the nativity was right as we went in the door. Ry said, hey Oma, let's buy this cute donkey. I explained we would have to buy the whole set in order to get the donkey. Ry said, but why would we need a baby, and who is he anyway? Then I said, And where's the lightening coming from????? Love these nativity groupings. Aim for their heads, what's your name again?
i love grumpy cat jesus!
Witches feet gets my top pick. Too funny.
Hmmmmm......wonder who that SOMEONE is? LOL LOL

This so "Debra"!! Love it!!! Jesus Christ, it's funny!
I got such a laugh out of these. I could go for the Will and Deanna one, complete with dinosaur! Have a good one!
That botttom picture of Mary. She looks like a total whore.
I used to have a nativity set. I forgot until I read this! No idea what happened to it.
I have seen the Halloween Nativity Scene cartoon. Quite a funny one.
Charlie Brown characters are probably the most mainstream parody of it.
When you said "Oz" I was afraid you meant the prison!
My new favorite sentence of all time: "Aim for their heads, Baby Jesus! "
OMG, I love the Grumpy Cat one! Did you know that cat (or its parents) have made $100M in the past two years?
I kid you not.
Hey Debra,
Yeah,I know, I'm rather absent these days. Please forgive me.
Nice to see Mary holding onto her pussy. Gosh, eh, I can hardly wait for "Boxing Day Eve."
Who's a robot, eh?
Gary
LOVED THESE!! The Irish one is so true!! lol (Sorry Ron)!
The flames are licking at their heels those heathens!!
thanks for another great selection of strange. I like the Irish one the best.
So what's santa doing in a stable. Guess he was the one who landed it on the witch? No wait, maybe that was Rudolph?
Ha, these are great! I think I like batman on the roof best
Gawd I love these...all of them.
Bill and Ted as the wise men still crack me up. "Ted, is that the Batman we hear on high?"
"Totally bogus!"
Now I could worship grumpy cat.
the Ol'Buzzard
Love the Coke can nativity!
I can't help it. I'm on some sort of whack-a-do holiday movie cycle. Send help. Can't stop. Must ... hit ... play ....
I can't stop laughing! Debra, I have been thanking all of my very close friends on blog land, for being there for me this year! It's been a hard year for me, and I came through it, because of friends like you! You mean a lot to me!! Hugs ;o)
Just to let you know, my gloves were from Roots, made in Canada, and they are from the 1998 Winter Olympics! I loved watching Elvis Stojko skate! The gloves are old, but there is no holes in them! LOL!
I love the expression on that cat.
They're all great, but my absolute favorite is the Mexican nativity scene. Hilarious.
By the way, last December I posted pictures of traveling cats that found a warm spot inside a nativity scene in New York. It reminded me a little of some of these.
Is that grumpy cat really real?
Yes, Rosemary, I believe that is the actual, real Grumpy Cat, star of the internet and now with her own Christmas movie too.
I am very divided between Star Treck/Star Wars and Grumpy cat... tough...
well just for you then..
Merry fucking Christmas
I like the star trek star wars convention...:)
an absolute riot. The fecken Irish one is my fav!
