It's Canadian Thanksgiving today and time once again to count our many, many blessings!
Compared to historical living conditions, we are so fortunate to live when and where we do.
Even things we complain about should really be sources of gratitude.
And if you're a turkey getting a tarot reading, you have something to be grateful for, too. No, wait . . . April Fools!

Happy Thanksgiving, Debra! I didn't know Canada had a thanksgiving day too. And we are indeed fortunate to be living in these times - even with our complaining.

Every time I see a movie or show or read a book from the 1800's of early 1900's I thank my lucky stars and am so grateful for being born in this era..

I love that Matter of Perspective. I have that on a wooden plaque next to my desk in the TV room. It keeps me sane. Happy Thanksgiving, doll.

Happy Thanksgiving! So many things to be thankful for.
I'm thankful my Thanksgiving is after Halloween
wink wink.
A few years back, the Missus and I toured Versailles and I thought, "we actually have it better than King Louis. He didn't have air conditioning, central heat or indoor plumbing. He didn't have movies or television or the Beatles. Sure, he had his own opera company, but it's not like he could say "I'm tired of Carmen, let's see what's going on with Rigoletto." Amazing what we take for granted.
Happy Thanksgiving Debra! Great post!!! Big Hugs!
Happy Thanksgiving. And if you run out of things to be grateful for, just remember you don't have our Mr Maga.
:) Love, cat.
You know I lost all sense of decorum when I read the turkey comic, right? Fine, so I don't really have any decorum, still... the turkey one made me roar.
Hope your Thanksgiving was a good one (bittersweet memories and all).
Hello Debra, Two Thanksgivings are better than one, especially to symbolize that we are not grateful just for one single day in each year.

I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!
Love that fairy tale thought.
Happy Thanksgiving
the Ol'Buzzard
Happy belated Thanksgiving!
Hope it was a good one for you. It surely is a bit sad when we are without some of those we love...but, it's life.
I know this is your first Thanksgiving without your mama...I also know what a strong lady you are...just know I think of you often.
been meaning to ask what the significance of the bee is? Or do you just like bees ?
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Debra.....we do indeed have much to be thankful for.
Jo
I hope that you and your Rare One had a Happy Thanksgiving yesterday! Great post, and thought-provoking. The last one was brilliant and funny!
happy thanksgiving to my favorite canaderian.
@ bj -- Bees are significant to me on a few levels -- here's a post I wrote on this precise question a while back because others have asked me the same thing:

And yes, I also just like bees and always have!
My favorite: “The things you take for granted...”!!!
Thanksgiving is my favourite holiday, and this year we have a lot to be thankful for! Maybe not the turkey, though.
