Hello Debra, I have to act as my own book-Santa, so I brought forty-three books home with me this year. I think I will save The Complete Plays of Christopher Marlowe to read during the holiday season--I reread Doctor Faustus a while ago, and can't wait to get at the others!

I don't have any books on my list. I actually don't have anything on my list aside from trying to enjoy every moment this year and not stress over the little stuff. Enjoy your book!!
Amazing how you knew a book is on my Christmas wish list, along with new couch cushions, LOL. I chose "Can’t Nothing Bring Me Down" by Ida Keeling … memoir of a 104-year-old, world-record-holding runner.
I think I have some kind of reading disorder. I am not a big reader, at least when it comes to books. It can take me weeks, sometimes months to finish a book, sometimes forcing myself to sit and read - and there are many books I've never finished. I will read a page and realized I have no idea what I've read and then read it over again - or I my mind will wander and I will nod off. It is a loosing battle most of the time. I have a few books on the shelf that I "plan" on reading...someday.
Something like "Tales of the City" is an easy read. It held my interest and has very short chapters. I read blogs and short articles, that works. On the other hand I have written and published my memoir which has gotten good reviews from the few people who've read it! I was working on a second book but have gotten discouraged by my members of my writing group...so that's on the back burner.

As I already have too many books (so says everyone who has ever lived with me) I wouldn't ask for another. I am a big Library user. But, knowing I love to read, people do tend to give me books.

I tend to only put in my wishlist what I think of as books that I want to collect, usually bigger picture books as presents. But such books do make great presents.
The book Xmas tree is neat. But where are all the other books? I don't have a bookshelf that doesn't have jammed shelves with an extra layer of books on top of the books on the shelves.
I want the finalists for the Giller prize. I enjoy Canadian literature!
I love the way that someone has used their imagination to make that Christmas tree out of books in the first image.
The book that I want to read next is called The Salt Path. It is about a couple from Devon who loose their home and the husband is told that he has a terminal illness. They set off with just a few belongings to walk the coastal pathway around southern Britain. As far as I am aware he is still alive, and her book has become a huge success.

Absolutely none. I sold or gave away all of my books several years ago. I can't read any longer with bad eyes and I don't have anything to listen to books on. Sooooo that is that.
No one I know would give me books. They know books are pouring out everywhere.
But, in one were to give me a book, I would want short stories. Writing is concise, words have to be well chosen.
We are going to Augusta next week for our Toyota's bi-annual check-up, and we will end up at the book store and of course purchase each other a book of our liking for our 'five days of Solstice.' Beginning on January 21 we give each other one gift a day for five days. One will be a book.

Books are good gifts. I have a tough time figuring out what a person (kids are easier to decide on one) would like to read.
Not sure if this counts but I start my reading goals for 2020.
I used to buy and give a lot of books as gifts. I always buy the Grand Girls a couple of their favorites. The oldest is getting away from reading but at 10 she has soooo much on her plate. LOL. The little one still wants books and a fancy Christmas dress.
since years i haven't read well like old times (30 years back) so there is quite a list which Santa might find heavy to bring along :)

I've been a bit of a poor reader this past year. That being said, I am keen to 'gift' myself two books, at least: Know My Name by Chanel Miller and Sarfraz Manzoor's Greetings from Bury Park: Race, Religion and Rock N’ Roll.
A bunch! Several by Donna Andrews (The Meg Langslow series) and a couple by Susan Wittig Albert (China Bayles series). In my old age I like light and fluffy! If I want serious, I'll read the news.
I'm not allowed to buy books any more..for anyone..plus I use the library..and anything I want Nancy can get it for me.Although I would love to have the full set of James Lee Burke's books all autographed by him.
Loved the first one since I am not a reader..it was a big help...You sure know how to make sure that you get what you want for Christmas..LOL!!

(And yesterday I bought myself some early Christmas presents of 3 books on early English royal history lol. The Plantagenets; The War of the Roses; and Tudor: Passion, Manipulation, Murder. Just some light reading!).

I have an Amazon wish list packed with books. I'll accept offerings at Christmas or any other time of the year. I can't possibly list all the books that I want. I wish Santa would bring Jane Austen to me. I know she'd be confused by the world, but I'm sure we'd have a good time talking about marriage and crazy mothers (mine and Elizabeth Bennet's).

HAHAHA! I do the same at Chapters. Go there with the most amazing man in the world, hand him the book I want, give him my Plum Rewards to use, and stand to the side pretending I don't know what's going on while he pays. Come Christmas morning, surprise! And I ooh and ahh about it :)
And there are ALWAYS books on my Christmas list. Always.

I just came out of the library with a sackful of steampunk books to rival Santa's legendary bag. :D But there are a few books I hope I will get my hands on, like the next installment of Holly Black's Folk of the Air series, Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo, and Sovereign by April Daniels.
I can not remember when I didn't include books on my Christmas wants list.
I felt sheepish to include any this year as everybody knows I have heaps of unread tones; I don't 'need more'. All the same I asked for one or two .
