It's lovely to proclaim that who you are is fine!

I love all of these; so important to be true to yourself.

I love that needlepoint one. And it is true we should be ourselves because all the rest will die mad about it.

It's been a journey and and there is still some road ahead.

Oh, the Devil Wears Pink?
I need that poster.
And you know that when you piss off the right person you're doing just fine.

XOXO

If you don't advocate for yourself who will?

I'd love to be that flapper butterfly.

if being yourself isn't good enough for some people then you've already weeded the right people out of your life - that's my mantra

😆 Hubby has a phrase he has used all his life about his own fits of outlandish behavior. When asked why he did something, he claims he's "just out here scarin' the straights!!" (Straights/straits refers to the strait-laced, stick-up-the-ass, moralizers of any kind.) I find it to be very useful during PRIDE🌈..."be yourself! It scares hell outta the straights!" 🤠👻✊️

Wonderful. I wish I knew about this many years ago. But I caught up.

These are great.

In western societies in the past - not so many years ago - scores of LGBTQ people had to keep their true selves under wraps, obliged to pretend that they were different from who they really were. This is why Pride is important.

A wise friend once told me that the people who get upset about you being yourself are the ones who can't stand being themselves. We were in high school when she told me. I wish I had understood what she was saying earlier than I did.
