Since my Advent of the Sun Altar to celebrate the coming Winter Solstice is physically occupying my altar space this month, I'm doing a photo post to honour December's Full Moon. Consider it Part 2 of a similar post I did a couple of years ago!
The Sacred Spiral of Life is a powerful symbol found in many spiritual traditions, including that of the Divine Feminine. The path to the centre of existence and to the centre of ourselves resonates deeply in the human psyche and we reproduce it in many settings.
The Sacred Spiral forms the basis for the unicursal (single) path of another favourite spiritual symbol and practice of mine -- the labyrinth.

Pythagorean spiral, Carbonacci sequence, and the Golden Ratio may provide the mathematical foundations for these spirals, but it's the use of beautiful materials that make them beautiful to behold!

🌀 Sometimes I'm spiraling inward and suddenly brake and shift to spiraling outward. 😵💫 Sometimes the spiraled snake uncoils and bites me on the ass.🐍
My best days are when I sit quietly, licking my spiral lollipop 🍭, and figuring out what all of that was trying to teach me! 🧘♀️😊

Hello Debra, Thank you for reminding me about the full moon. I just went to look, and it was overcast. However you could see a brighter area where the moon was. As I watched, the clouds suddenly parted, giving me a full view of the bright moon in all its glory, then a minute later the clouds covered the moon again.

There is a church that has an herb garden outside of it's kitchen. I've wanted to visit now and then. I might do it before I die. Love that cat lamp with the spiral.

It's a little freaky to me that you would mention this today. Last night, I had a hard time sleeping with an old memory from Instagram playing over and over in my head for some reason - #seeitineverything - about seeing hearts and how if you are looking for them, you will see them so much more often. No idea what made me remember that, but I took it as a sign. I think I will start looking for hearts again and maybe spirals too. :)
@ Martha -- Yes, definitely some synchronicity going on here! And you know, I'm compiling a blog post of heart imagery for Valentines Day, so I'm looking for hearts everywhere right now too.
