These are good!

We rather enjoyed the weather last May. Some of the locals need subtitles when they speak.

Happy ROBBIE Burns day everybody. My husband never wore underwear under his kilt and a few women asked if they could take a peak to see if it was true. Gigi

Thanks for the exciting history of Scotland ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿค“ as well as a big smile ๐Ÿ˜‚

My late husband was a scot, wore the kilt as a little boy. He'd have loved these!

Tom said...

...there are Scots in the north of Barbados, they are called "red legs!"

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Tom -- From the severe sunburn on their pale flesh, no doubt!

I've seen Billy Connelly do stand-up from time to time. Also, he replaced Howard Hesseman on Head of the Class. Very funny man, even if that thick Scottish brogue made him hard to understand at times.

My brother did find that somewhere in our history our Great Grandfather was from Scotland so maybe that's where we get that toughness from. I could only wish!
Love it.

Tha mi dรจidheil air Alba, Robbie Burns, agus an dreuchd seo. I love Scotland, Robbie Burns, and this post. And I have absolutely no idea how to pronounce it the first time around.

These are great, Debra. I'll have the lager ans skip the haggis.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Moving with Mitchell -- You speak English, Spanish AND Gaelic now?

The portion of me which is Scottish is happy today.

I've always wanted to go to a Burns night celebration, but once again this year it's not going to happen.

Dear Debra, I visited Nessie in the 1980s and I'm glad she's still doing well! By the way, I didn't see any Scots with umbrellas back then (nor in 2017, when I was briefly in the north of Scotland). But blue underpants under a kilt. I'm glad to finally find out who Bonnie Prince Charlie was named after - the mysteries in my life are becoming fewer! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
All the best and a great new week ❄️☃️, Traude
PS: Your camel turned out amazing!

What a fun tradition! I’m sure PETA appreciates Nessie being so thoughtfully cared for, and I wonder if thistle will work on warding off the out-of-control ICEstapo. I don’t know about haggis, but I’d enjoy the neeps and tatties. Slรกinte Mhath!

You always find the best memes. Have a great day today.

Oh I forgot it was Burns Night. Too busy with Mozart Week. Not a fan of haggis, by the way. I tried to like it, but failed.

Thank you for the many smiles. I read some of Burns' poems today, they are always worth every minute.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ messymimi -- My favourite Burns poem is (and always has been) "To A Mouse."

Tundra Bunny said...

"Marooned" gave me such a good belly laugh, thanks! If you can get your tongue round your R's, here's one for you:

"Ever been to sea, Billy?"
"No, Captain Hindgrinder."
"Then meet your bunkmates, Ben Dover and Phil McCracken."

CAAZ said...

We rust, lol.

Moving with Mitchell said...

I speak a multitude of Google Translator!

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Tundra Bunny -- Well, like for all bad puns, my standard response should be GROAN but that would just be taken the wrong way in that context, I'm sure, so I won't say anything.

And the Scot’s will pay for that wall lol
I love love loved Scotland. I hope I get to visit again one day

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ angela -- Yes, the Scots have paid pretty dearly over the centuries since then.

I haven't laughed so hard in quite a while, Thank You. My children have Scottish ancestry on their father's side and are entitled to wear the Carnegie Tartan if they wish. My youngest son has a cap and scarf in the Carnegie.

OMG on Nessie. LOVE IT!

e said...

Love these! Have you seen the Witches of Scotland tartan, or read the book? Highly recommend

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ e -- No, I haven't heard of this -- I'll check it out, thanks!
