We are corn!
So good, so true, so sad.

Yep, nailed it.

Here for the resilience of corn.
Also, I’m that raccoon after trying to color my way out of stress.

XOXO

With my penchant for alcohol in all its many wonderful forms, I'm handling the current chaos quite well. I'm keeping myself just numbed enough to still be aware of what's happening, but not giving one crapola about the end game. CHEERS!!!

Pixie said...

I am the corn!

I realized this morning, that one of the first things I do each morning, is get my hopes dashed, when I look for the big beautiful obituary. Would the world please arrest a few war criminals?

Brilliant all of them. The mandala is what my nervous system feels like. My sister had a hairdryer like that. Jayne

I am just now, finally, going to be working with a councillor to deal with all of this, and I have been wondering exactly how I am going to express what I am feeling. I think I am going to just show her this post: says it all!

All so true! (sigh)

Those of us down here appreciate y'all up there feeling our pain. We hope to reward that over the next 2 elections.

Right this second I am looking at the most scarlet of cardinals perched on a branch of the magnolia tree, perfectly framed by the green glossy leaves of it. That is worth persisting for. I think.

@ Anonymous -- Guess what? Tomorrow's post will be a light-hearted look at therapy. You and she might LOL at some of those memes too!

Kirk said...

"The horror persists..." line is pretty much my take on it these days.

OMG. I used a hair dryer like that so often in high school. What a great memory. My favorite this time is the Fuck It Bucket. Definitely starting one of those right next to my Bucket List.

I've become rather weary with all that's going on. Sigh.

Couldn't agree more. I am an American who absolutely did NOT vote for this guy and his shit. I've always believed in keeping up with current events but right now I believe that not driving myself off the edge in a stream of constant negativity is more important. As is useful protest.

You get an A+ for your work today, Debra. I think I need to head to a salon to get all the bullshit sucked out and I also need to go dump out my fuck it bucket because I have been chucking way too much stuff in there lately.

We are CORN! I'm going to start signing my emails and texts with 'the horror persists but so do I'

🥰🫶👏 OMG! I realize it's not the point of this excellent collection of memes, but a reminder of the great Adam West and his 1964 contributions to sci-fi...just the lift in spirits I need today!
The meme is a still from "The Outer Limits" episode titled "The Invisible Enemy." The first manned mission to Mars is getting killed off one astronaut at a time! 🛸😱
Adam West went to Mars again in 1964 in the movie "Robinson Crusoe on Mars." I know it sounds schlocky, but it is a well-written, well-produced cult classic (94% Rotten Tomatoes) that still holds up today! There are only 4 cast members and, unfortunately, Adam West doesn't persist very far into the film. But, Paul Mantee, Victor Lundin, and Mona [Barney] the Woolly Monkey are great performers! Give it a chance if you can! 🥳

I like your pink bat, if my black cat ever resigns from being my familiar, that bat is definitely next in line!

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Cleora Borealis -- Thanks for that info! You have advanced my pop culture education today!

Lady M said...

I can't take it any longer. Scotty beam me up.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Elderberry-Rob -- Perhaps your black cat would consent to cosplaying the sparkly pink bat? Best of both worlds!

I’m that racoon, and I was Calvin this morning. And I desperately need that bullshit sucker. However, Dudo is lying next to me in bed purring to his heart’s content while I nuzzle his chin and cheeks. The horrors persist, but so do I.

I’ve had to take a bit of a hiatus from all the doom and gloom.
So while hubby watches the news I have my earphones in listening to comedy on YouTube.

Guillaume said...

Yeah, times are weird and scary.

We're more cat people in this household. Thankfully my son hasn't asked for a dog yet.

Reading your blog from Taiwan is a totally more refreshing experience!

Jeebus, I AM THAT RACCOON! The red rage colouring also speaks to me.

Very funny about the piece of corn. Loved it!

Fundy Blue said...

That would be me coloring the mandala. 😂

I constantly educate my patients who are going to pieces from doom scrolling the human brain is not designed to take in 24/7 worse case scenario bad news. "strict media diet' is as important as not eating at McDonalds every day.

I wish I could have the bullshit sucked out of my head.
