Friday Face OFF -- Young Hare

For this week's Friday Face OFF link party
of art featuring faces, hosted by Nicole of

From Ye Olde Cobwebby Archives
comes this charcoal drawing I did
fifty-one years ago in 1974
when I was still in high school.

Positively yellow with age it is!

At that time I was an absolute fanatic for Renaissance Art.
One of my favourites was this piece by the
German artist Albrecht Durer -- "Young Hare, 1502."

Doing a "sort and cull" recently on a battered box
of ancient stuff belonging to my Mom, I found
my old drawing again, saved by her all those years.

So now I'm sharing it with you!

It's beautiful but a hare? I think reader Tundra would rather see a Tundra Bunny.

I envy your artistic ability. My dad was an artist but made a living as a sign painter. My sister and brother got more of the art genes than I did. Oh well. Keep up the great art.

That's a great drawing, and it must have been fun to find it after all these years. I was in high school in 1974 also, and in some ways, it doesn't seem so long ago, but it sure was, wasn't it? Have a super weekend.

I have stick figures drawings my dad saved and had on his bulletin board in his office still to this day. Such wonderful memories!

I love that the singer of "O Canada," Chantal Kreviazuk, changed the lyric from "true patriot love in all of us command" to "true patriot love in ONLY US command!" ✊️๐Ÿ‘ And kudos to Justin Trudeau for his immediate twiXt: "You can’t take our country — and you can’t take our game!" ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Your 'after Dรผrer' piece from high school is stunning. I so enjoy Dรผrer, by the way. He was truly ahead of his time.

@ Cleora Borealis -- Yes, how sweet it is! Or as my sister said to me in a post-game email -- SUCK ON THAT, TKACHUKS!

Lots of natural artistic ability there, even in high school... too bad you had to put art on the back burner to make a living as an ugh, lawyer, LOL!

Looks like the hare in my parents' garden. Gorgeous hares.
