Monday Murals -- Tarot Cards

I'm taking part today in
Monday Murals hosted by Sami.

Today is World Tarot Day
so I am featuring a mural
depicting three tarot cards.

The cards represent the unknown artist's interpretation of
the Temperance, World and Star cards of the Major Arcana.

This mural was painted on the side of a
pagan, goth and kink "Curio Shoppe"
located in a trendy area in Edmonton
known for shopping, bars and restaurants.

Both the store and the mural are now long gone, alas.

Very interesting interpretations of those cards!

Good mural because it’s an interesting topic, nicely illustrated, and connects to the building.

What is there now?

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Jackie McGuinness -- Nothing. The building itself was ripped down.

They're beautiful. Damn shame art like this vanishes.

Nicely done.

What is temperance holding up? Even enlarged I cannot make it out. Thanks for the lovely cards.

Debra She Who Seeks said...

@ Joanne Noragon -- The Temperance card is traditionally about the mixing of opposites, so I believe the alchemist is holding up a bowl of Elemental Fire and pouring it into a bowl of Elemental Water/Ice. That's my interpretation, anyway! Or maybe it's strawberry sauce and ice cream!

Wow! This is a great mural. We no longer have any kind of shops like this here.

Love these atmospheric interpretations. I'm glad you took a photo and saved them for posterity.
Thinking I might pull a card today and see what's likely...

Hi Debra, These are very interesting, but can you "read" them for us? --Jim

@ Parnassus -- My interpretation of this 3-card spread would be: "Pursue a middle path between the extremes of life and you will find fulfilment, your soul's purpose, and peace."

Good one. At least you have a record of it, Debra.

Sorry to hear the building and it's art no longer exists.

What a cool mural. A shame it’s gone. Every time I see a mural now, I think of you and these posts. I’ve got just a few to share.

What a pity the murals no longer exist, as they were quite interesting and an unusual topic. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Debra.

I do love this feature.

Wow. I love to see different interpretations of tarot cards. That would have been so perfect for that little store. Would certainly draw me in

"pagan, goth and kink"

I would have checked such a store out, at least once.
