Amen. So blessed to have trans friends and family.
I'm not a Christian, but I found the Jesus one so sweet. LOL I loved the "if you can't figure it out" one. People need to be more focused on their own things, rather than going around fixated on strangers' genitals.
Ooh does that mean I'm going to get hugged today?
Excellent bunch! My favourite is the child’s explanation, truly that simple, out of the mouths of babes!
I don't know any trans people, but I'd hug them if I did! I do have a lot of lesbians around me, my editor even wears a ring in her eyebrow :)
these are all great! we had a huge pride parade here and the W's greeted everyone! winnie and willie dress exactly the same and no one seems interested in their gender.
These are great reminders!
I think it is wonderful that there is so much information through entertainment and documentaries now to help ignorant people understand what it is like to be transgender. That quote from a child is perfect!
One of the dads at school (when my youngest was still at primary) is trans. He lost loads of friends when he announced his intentions, I've supported her thro her journey and she's so much happier now.
These are so great, I'll be stealing some.Laverne's quote breaks my heart.
Funny how for some of my fellow citizens of the US, freedom only applies to gun ownership not ownership of ones body, sexuality, gender, identity etc.
I think the Laverne quote is particularly telling. Great choices!JP
Yes! Every day if I could. The Laverne Cox and the child’s explanation gave the feels! XoXo
'Lesbians love and support our trans sisters'Yes. All the time, yes. These are great, Debra!
These are all great!!!
Awesome trans memes today, darlin. That Texas bathroom door is so cool.
Hi, Debra...thanks for coming over to visit.I have been sooo bad in blogging. Losing interest....so much work when it's faster over at Instagram...do you have an IG page ?
I love the Peas/Carrots meme. So simple and so right.
stealing a few..love you
I love your blog all the time but I particularly love it during pride month. The best!
Laverne Cox has been so good on Orange Is The New Black. I was glad that for once they actually got a trans person to play a trans person. Other than having respect for people's feelings and desires, I don't think anyone can understand what it's like to be trans without being trans. You have to live it to comprehend it, and if you don't live it, then show respect and don't be a bully.Love,Janie
It's really that simple!
A few decades ago, this issue never ever was discussed. Or even mentioned. Conversation can finally begin. Huzzah.
Love the last one best of all.
For any gay man that has ever been called a girl, that sure hits home. It would be very typical for those types of jerks to call someone a girl and then be determined never to call them that again if the person wanted them tell.
As you know I am very confused about this, friend D. I hug my trans daughter every time I see her. I am her mother. I gave birth to a girl. She will always be my girl. I respect what she is feeling, but who is respecting what I am feeling? https://youtu.be/wK2U0dYZeQI … This whole thing is throwing me for a loop so bad. Anyway. Love, cat.
Some band teacher somewhere got fired for not using a trans person's name or preferred pronoun over a long-term basis. The bigots said he was sticking to his beliefs. Any teacher that does that to their student, is a fucking dickhead.
@ Cat -- I hope this difficult journey for you ultimately results in peace. It's good that you're open to communicating and maintaining family relationships. Best wishes to you all!
Laverne Cox's comment is right on!
Must be tough for a man named Guy that becomes a woman and wants to keep the name.
@ Powdered Toast Man -- I would recommend she adopt the French female name of Guylaine!
I like the "DOn't worry about it" Perfect!!
I do struggle to understand transgender but I see it exists and would never condemn. I think I'll stick with the 'Don't worry about it' quote, and just let us all live together happily..
Children are wise, wise, wise. "She feels better." I love that!
