Let's Get Soakin' Wet!

My Rare One and I have signed up as volunteers all this week at the International Gay and Lesbian Aquatic Championships, so I won't be around the blogosphere much until IGLA ends this weekend.

The City of Edmonton and our local LGBT swim team, "Making Waves," are hosting this big event for the first time and everyone is keen to put our best foot forward! LGBT swimmers, divers, synchro clubs and water polo teams are coming from all over the world to attend. The furthest are coming from Australia and New Zealand.

And hey, if you've ever been curious to see my city Edmonton, its surrounding areas and its many attractions (including some Pride Festival and gay nightlife footage),* then take a look at this IGLA promotional video!

*(also lots of half-naked men if you're into that)

Wow. Thanks for the heads up about the plethora of nearly naked men. Hardly any nearly naked women, sadly.

Your city looks beautiful, and the surrounding area makes me want to move to Edmonton. Good job, videographer!

What e said. Also no naked squireels. A bit disappointing.Have a great time.

My wife wanted to visit Edmonton when we were in Banff many years ago but the thought of a very, very large shopping mall worried me.

LGBT swim Olympic: who knew? Kudos to your and your Rare One for hosting. I spent one day in Edmonton on my way to the Canadian Forces Winter Bush Survival School. Didn't see much except bars... sailors liberty.

The city looks great and I hope the Championship is a great success.

I am more into fully naked than half naked men.

Hey Debra,

I reckon things went swimmingly. Edmonton is one of the nicest cities I've flown over on the way to Vancouver :)

Take it easy, eh.

This may be the migraine tricking me but I don't think so...I'm pretty sure I saw a blowup doll in one of those shots by the pool. Do they compete too? ;)

Have fun!!

I'm more into half-naked women, but any port in a storm, as they say. I've never been to Edmonton, but would like to take a western Canadian road trip before too long.

I just saw someone I know and love in that video!! My niece, Elaine!! She is a member of the 'Making Waves' swim team. But, you knew that already, Debra!
Hope you all have BLAST this weekend!!
Now....GO GET SOAKING WET!

Yes, I knew you'd spot her, Jim! We're having a great time volunteering at IGLA and Elaine is competing as well, in addition to being an organizer.
