Start Your Holiday Shopping Now!

As far as I'm concerned, it's never too early to beat the rush when it comes to holiday shopping! Of course, by "holiday" I mean Halloween, Samhain, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Festivus, Christmas, Yule, Kwanzaa, whatever it is you've got left to celebrate in 2018!

And if you can find that perfect holiday gift on the internet, then so much the better!

In that spirit, here's some info about a couple of new books published this year and some new merchandise available online from some of my favourite bloggers! This isn't a sponsored advertisement or anything -- it's just stuff I like!

THE TRUMPETER'S NEW CLOTHES
by Robyn Alana Engels

Robyn Alana Engel's new book is a fun political satire for kids of all ages! The Trumpeter's New Clothes is a poetical fun-fest of laughs with knock-out illustrations that will delight you! But be forewarned that, as Robyn says, it's "not for those who lean Orange!" Ha ha! (You'll love his hairpiece -- I know I do!) Available on Amazon (USA) and (Canada).

CLOWDERS by Vanessa Morgan

No one writes about cats so well as Vanessa Morgan! Her latest book, Clowders, is a spooky tale set in Luxembourg involving cats and supernatural vengeance. Frightened town inhabitants do everything they can to worship, adore and protect their cats. But then one night, an American newcomer accidentally runs over a cat with her car . . . .

This book is particularly recommended by Her Royal Highness.

Available on Amazon (USA), (Canada) and (UK).

Magic Love Crow Merchandise

In addition to an Etsy shop where you can buy her art and leggings, Stacy of Magic Love Crow now has a Redbubble site as well, where you can buy all kinds of quality merchandise featuring some of her most iconic images! I bought one of her "Happy Baby Crow" t-shirts and just love it! From personal experience, I also know that her tote bags and notebooks are great too!

Robyn Alana Engels's book looks fun, I bet she enjoyed writing it. I wonder how brave a stance it is to write a book like this mocking Trump when you are a citizen of the USA?

Great tips! I just love love crow merchandise, Stacy is so talented, we had one of her tote bags stolen from my grand daughter at the park, she cried for Days! I need to replace it!

Robyn is so talented! I read her first book and I am behind on getting this new one but I will. She's a wonderful person with a vivacious personality!
I cant wait to get a tote bag from Magic Crow. I know a few people that it will be perfect for as gifts.
Thanks for the post and supporting your friends. I love following your blog and have added it to my blog list on mine. Have a great weekend

Apparently when I was a kid I used to shout my Christmas wish list up the chimney. I was nothing if not imaginative.

@ DEZMOND -- Don't you have your "My Canadian Boyfriend, Justin Trudeau" 2018 wall calendar yet? Apparently there are also mugs and a life-size cardboard standup image available!

YIPPEE!! I'm so happy. Thank you, Deb! This is very exciting and good timing. (I'm putting on a show tomorrow - a live reenactment of the book. It's going to be wacky fun.)

Thanks, Rosemary. It's risky, that's certain. But I'm also fairly confident my name has been on the Trumpeter's naughty list for quite some time - and I'm in very good company with perhaps hundreds of thousands. We have wit and creativity on our side.

Dezmond, I'm still awaiting response from Trudeau. I begged - I mean, I asked politely - if he'd kindly pose for the cover of my upcoming book on him. *Anxiously awaiting personal phonecall from Trudeau.

Hugs, Debra.

Ooh! These all look so good. Both books look good, though the Trump one gave me a very good chuckle. I didn't know Stacy had merch with her artwork! Her designs are so cute.

They all sound like interesting gifts. It all depends on my December finances.

Don’t forget to put candles in your hair, dress in white, and eat saffron buns with the Swedes on December 13 in commemoration of ::: either light or a blind Italian saint called Lucia. Doesn’t matter, add vodka. No presents needed.

I used to shop early and now I've become a lazy shopper. Sometimes I wait until the last few days! Robyn is the coolest. She comes up with some really funny stuff!

OMG!! I have got to get that book Trumpeter's New Clothes for my brother. He's a hardcore Tangerine Mussolini fan. I can't seem to change his mind but I can sure as shit make fun of him.

I've already given Robyn's book to a couple of people. Some more might receive it for Christmas.

Love,
Janie

I try to get what I can here and there so Jan's bill isn't a fucking giant.

Thanks for the recommendations. My mother-in-law usually completed her Xmas shopping in August, demanding our Xmas lists in July. Me? I’m finally to the point where I just don’t buy anybody anything!

I've always shopped year 'round for Christmas...such a large family and I try to buy things on sale. and...I absolutely LOVE using the net to do shopping. Favorite is Amazon because of their speedy shipping.

Christmas shopping was done by September. That being said, "Clowders" needs to be a movie.....sounds good. I'd never get through the book though as reading puts me to sleep. Ha, ha.

Love the first one and the crow T-shirt. Interesting looking books there. It's a shame I don't read.. I don't! And it really is a shame. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.

great gift ideas here. I'm thinking of getting assorted nuts for everyone this year.

Sounds like a lady with a sense of humor.

The Trump book? It feels like a bit of a cheap shot. I mean, how many political cartoons are on pages? How many jokes made about him on talk shows? This author can write, for sure. But this book? Nah.

I am extremely jealous of your Magic Love Crow t-shirt. Now I must have one, or a dress, or a pair of tights...

Must have Clowders
thanks

I managed to whittle down the gift list to one person and I give cash. Problem solved.

Clowders looks wonderful. I've always thought we ought to go back to worshipping cats as deities.

Debra!!! BIG CROW HUGS!!! You are a sweetheart girl! I just came back from the retreat and saw this! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I love all the other recommendations too! The Trumpeter's looks hilarious! I love Vanessa's book!
Are you still going to be my cover girl for my t-shirt?? I haven't done anything to my redbubble or etsy store in so long! I feel bad!
Thanks again Deb!!!

Okay, now I remember what happened, Debra. I was reading through your blog posts, and then I got sidetracked checking out Stacy's Etsy and Redbubble sites. I love that you featured books and other gifts by fellow bloggers!
