Happy Father's Day!

I think that this wonderful Calvin and Hobbes panel by Bill Watterson really captures the essence of what it means to be a good father. There is Calvin and his tiger buddy Hobbes, having fun reading the Sunday comics in front of the fireplace, a mug of hot chocolate nearby. They are warm, happy and safe.

Where's Dad? Oh, there he is -- outside in the cold, shoveling snow. Yet another unsung service which he provides for his family's well-being. He is not the visual focal point of the picture but his hard work and reliability make the whole picture possible.

Excellent choice! Calvin & Hobbes is a great choice to highlight parenting in adversity, lol. If it snowed here I'm quite sure my 4 year old would have some snowscapes to rival Calvins, lol.
