Back to School

I always loved going back to school every September. It's been 32 years since I last had that pleasure, but September still remains a special month to me because of it. So for all you students and teachers out there, I hope you enjoy these school-related LOLs!

Gosh I wish my students threw bills at me to get good grades; unfortunately, this is France, not America and these 5 dollars might just be the only money they have to feed themselves for the whole week !!

When this time of the year comes round, I always think of the excitement that first day of school always brought. Love these.

I also loved going back to school, because I have always loved learning new things. I usually changed my mind again when the first math classes arrived.

These are fun! I'm going back to school ... sort of ... taking an online modern poetry course ... auditing ... have no desire to write 4 essay's or grade any!

That first one is so ridiculously clever! And the last one makes me want her as a teacher.

Those are hilarious! Especially the "...we only have you." HA!
I loved going back to school, too. I didn't get great grades or anything, we were just too poor to go anywhere or doing anything all summer, so my brother & I were tired of beating the crap out of each other.
School got us away from our parents, so we liked it.

How well I remember those exciting first days of school. :0) The new clothes, the new shoes, the excitement of seeing friends and teachers. Yes, I was one of those kids that enjoyed school! LOL And I even had a teacher that drew pics on the test papers. He was a fun teacher. :0)

These are all awesome. I always infuriated my teachers by thinking outside the box. What a surprise, right?

Hahaha! These are hilarious. I especially love the one about Alexander the Great!

I LOVED when school started. I'd do it all over again if I could.

I remember those days, filled with anticipation for the new year. Then after a few weeks, we all were looking forward to Summer Break again.

Love them all! My youngest daughter went back to school last week, and I have to say having the quiet house to myself for a few hours is a delight. "D

Good ones! My favourite note came from a grade 6 student who had a never ending fight with another student about religion. One day she stood in front of me totally outraged with a note from the other girl that said, "You worship Satin." Hardest moment of my life trying not to laugh.

Back to school is tough for teachers. I'm so exhausted tonight I can hardly move. But it's always fun to get a new batch of kids, a fresh audience for my antics.

Love the whiteout idea. Wife teaches college English; at end of one semester, student offered to give her a credit card in exchange for changing his grade. Not very funny.

I used to live volunteering at school to hear all the funny things the staff would share in the staff room. Kids are funny.

It's good to know today's teachers have a great sense of humour. During my school years it was the textbook definition of an oxymoron.

Here in BC, we are still waiting on the teachers and goverment to stop taking shots at each other, and actually remember that there are students wanting an education. My oldest niece is in grade 12 this year and SO angry that she is missing out. I'm still hoping that they will get their heads out of their asses soon.

PS - loved the tour of southern Alberta in your previous posts!

We hear you are getting a bit of cold and wet now too. I hope you get an Autumn this year and don't head straight into winter!
