I am trying hard not to go into a tirade over Labour day. All I can say is I love all these. And I love my family members that have long passed that fought for fair pay and benefits.
LOL! I wouldn't be surprised to see more strikes over fairness in the near future! We had a tri-state disaster over the last few weeks with an affordable supermarket chain. It was entertaining to watch since customers and employees boycotted the stores until we all got what we wanted! They just reopened a few days ago so employees are back to work. This was all over internal family feuds. So sad.
Labor is what most people have to do to survive... the rest labor in order to look like they are not having to labor to survive - and then there are the few who enjoy our labor Labor sux! Why celebrate it? the Ol'Buzzard
Thank you for this post, Debra! I was walking among some abandoned mine buildings up in the mountains this weekend and thinking about all who died in labor struggles to make a better life for working people. What is happening now to ordinary people in their jobs breaks my heart. We may see the rise of labor unrest if things don't start to improve. Hope your LaboUr Day was a good one!

Happy Labor Day. Long weekends were always welcomed when I was working.

What's labor day? Or Labour day? It's just another wet day here in the UK.
Anyway, whatever I hope it's a good day for you.
Oh my, I love John Steinbeck!
Temporarily embarrassed millionaires, that is priceless.
Ha ha!
Happy Labour Day, Debra!
lol!!!!
lol Steinbeck's quote is so very true! WE celebrate Labour day on May Day here...
Two years ago Eric Cantor said “Today, we celebrate those who have taken a risk, worked hard, built a business and earned their own success.”
talk about re-writing history. At least karma came back, because he won't be in next year's congress for losing his party's primary.
You mean to tell me, there's more to Labour Day, than just an excuse to watch football all weekend?
HAHAHA...good stuff! I especially love the last one. Happy Labour Day, happy Monday, and happy September, Debra! An overload of happy :)
And I'm just sitting here on the computer, drinking a late morning beer, enjoying a day off because hey, free day off!
If it wasn't so hot here, I'd do a barbecue. Have a good one Debra!

Bravo for this excellent post - all three parts. Thank you kindly.
Be well, Debra.
Very funny. Here there is no Labor Day, on the first Monday of September we... Labor.
Labor is what most people have to do to survive... the rest labor in order to look like they are not having to labor to survive - and then there are the few who enjoy our labor
Labor sux! Why celebrate it?

Sad to say, your annual income as a poor person can actually be greater if you had worked, at least here in the U.S.

Man, there are some people who always have the exact perfect quotes. My favourite is Oscar Wilde.
RIGHT ON SISTER!
Loved that last one, Debra! And so true!

That Steinbeck quote is so great. Thank you for these.
Good ones! Wonder if Labor Day is celebrated in the other areas of the World where U.S. companies outsource their jobs to?
Labor Day would have been much more fun if we hadn't spent it laboriously working on the house.
oh, so thats how i see myself? LOL! cheers!!
