In Which Image Becomes Reality

You know the purple Celtic cable-knit gloves I use for my profile icon? The ones which I confessed are really just an image I swiped from the internet?

Well, look what I found for sale in Prince Edward Island about a week after I met Jim, Ron and Sophie in Halifax! Trust me, the gloves are actually purple even though my damn camera makes them look blue. And yes, I know they're not exactly the same design and style as my profile icon but hey, close enough! Or at least as close as I'm ever likely to find.

In my next post, I'll show you how I'm going to use them in future Bloggin' Buddies Meetups!

oh my gosh, first of all ,, I always thought they were your hands in the photo and it is such a unique photo that I always notice it and know its you,
second of all,
that happenstance was pure magic,, it was meant to be,, I love it when things like that happen,,,
they are lovely,, if my eyes still work I would have gladly knit you a pair had I known they were not yours in the photo,

Is this another case of the white/gold black/blue dress that went viral because I see purple. Glad that you found a pair for your very own!

Haha, perfect!

My idiot camera does the same thing :( Mina does it because the AWB button is stuck.

Iconic.

We haven't really had a glove-centric pop culture since the Eighties.

It's time again.

you need to take a picture of your hands in the gloves for your header..I'd love that..and isn't it wonderful that you found them? the only thing that would make it better was they were on sale and you got them for a steal..ha

Coolness!! I always thought those were your hands in the icon photo. The ones you really have are slightly purple. Yeah, it could be the camera or you're color blind. BWAAHAHAHAAAHAHAHAAAAA!

Those seem a better fit for Canadian weather!! As for the meetings, are you going to wear these and they will wear a carnation on their jackets to recognize each other? Or it could be that I am binge watching covert affairs a bit too much...

I never realized your profile picture was swipped from the net. Nice gloves though! I like cut-off ones, but where there's also a mitten attachment.

Great find! I'm glad the blogging world and reality have come together. I always assumed you pinched the image from the internet, but I have no idea why.

The Universe wanted you to have those gloves. They've probably been looking for you for years and at long last, they've found you.

I'm guessing that you're going to cover your face with them, Debra! You know, of course, we'd all love to see what you look like!

I never understood the fingerless gloves until last winter when I had to drive the grands to school and had to text their MOm to let her know I wasn't a total screw up and could manage getting them there, even in snow and foul weather. I tried with regular gloves but cell phones just kinda just sit and give you attitude with gloves on.
Great find on your part.

You can find anything you want or need on PEI.... at least that's the way I'm starting to think.

They look mighty warm Debra, as they should be for your winters. I know a yarn store in Charlottetown that has the BEST selection of yarn called Northern Watters Knitwear http://www.nwknitwear.com/ I just wonder if they might have what you are looking for.

Psst: don't you just love the peace and quiet of PEI!!!!!!!

We do!

If every you're back Halifax way, gimme a shout. Maybe a few of us blogging buddies could get together for a stroll on the boardwalk.

The "gloves" were a nice find ...
