Well, the Florida Panthers have now won their second, back-to-back Stanley Cup, defeating the Edmonton Oilers in Game 6 of the Playoffs. And oh, how the rubber rats rained down on the ice!
So congrats to the Panthers.
This is how the Oilers will be spending their summer now until the next hockey season starts . . .
. . . and this is how we Oilers fans will be spending ours, alas.
But next year, we'll get that Cup! NEXT YEAR! *shakes fist*

It's hard to believe that the Panthers didn't cheat to get that cup--not much legitimate comes from Florida these days.

I just walked out of our kitchen as the newscaster was saying the Florida Panthers had won the Stanley Cup and my first thought was, "Oh Debra will not be happy."

Ice rinks in sub-tropical Florida? That seems so wrong and in terms of environmental responsibility very blameworthy. If any of the oilers are in Great Britain this summer, they are welcome to come and oil all the door hinges in our house.
