[Michael Rosato, Take My Hand, 2019]
Harriet Tubman (c.1822-1913)
American escaped slave,
abolitionist and social activist,
conductor on the Underground Railroad.
Isn't this art wonderful?
I love how she is emerging from the mural,
stepping out of frame, extending her hand,
helping the viewer enter the scene.
As if she is saying,
"Fear not. Have courage.
Come with me. Your freedom awaits."

I've seen this mural make the rounds on the socials. I love it! What a courageous woman.
Such an important symbol and message in these times too.
Beautiful!
She was one of my first heroes as a child and she will always be at the top of that list.
...she was the Moses of her people.
Way ahead of her time. An icon.
I love her story. She totally inspires me! Right next to the nurse in WWII who snuck children out of concentration camps in her cart.
What a great painting.
That mural may need protection. Just sayin.
@ Boud -- Alas, in these hateful times when the MAGA Trump Administration is trying to erase Black history, I'm sure you're right.
It looks so welcoming!
