Good Summer Reads, Part 1

Now that nice weather has FINALLY arrived, it's time to pick something good to read at the beach or outside on the deck or, well, anywhere really. And, as luck would have it, some bloggin' buddies have recently released interesting and entertaining books which I can highly recommend!

M. L. Madison of Riot Kitty has written a charming ebook for kids of all ages called The Adventures of Black Jack Pepper. Her brother Nik Houser did the illustrations so this book is a real family project. It's all about a little girl, her kid brother, their endlessly patient Dad and (HRH likes this part) their cat! The heroine has many fun misadventures involving lobsters, polar bears, plumbers, Santa Claus and the police. It's fast-paced and action-packed!  Click here to go to its Amazon link.

If adult reading is more what you're after, G. B. Miller of Cedar's Mountain has written a novel that is a terrific blend of several genres -- sci-fi, fantasy, paranormal, erotica, mystery -- Line 21 has it all! Jeannie's basic dilemma is that she must pay off the family loan shark but she has no money. Then an unexpected business opportunity presents itself. Oh my goodness! Line 21 is available both in paperback and ebook versions -- click here to go to Amazon's paperback link.

Tomorrow -- a couple more good books!

Is that the same G B Miller that wrote Dead Man in the Stacks?

Thanks for the recommendations. The first one looks adorable and second, hot. I want that body, but I'll take the money instead.

I don't know what to say about the cover of that book......

I have a problem with reading, lately. The minute I pick up a book, my eyes slowly go to sleep... Can't stay awake past the first 5 minutes. I guess that's a good thing/used to suffer from insomnia.

They both sound terrific. Summer reading is a must --- outdoors while listening to the sounds of nature!

Love that illustration!

Being partially blind in one eye and not able to see great with the other, you can't imagine how nice it is to read the new font you have chosen! Thank yew! Thank-yew! Looking forward to more book reviews!

The grown up book looks like a must read for me- having said that, I now have Odin and childrens books are back on the shopping list again. I get scared to hear people refer to books as things of the past. Nothing is as good as a good book. Lisa x

I have alot of reading of books to do, but it won't happen in the warmer months, as I don't have the attention span. But if the book is tattooed on the back of a muscular boy....well then......

Erotica... I will never forget when I was 14 and found one of those books at my grandpa's house and would hide in the library reading them as though I was committing a mortal sin. Ah fun days!

Debra, many thanks for the shout out and I'm very glad that you've enjoyed it.

To the other commenter, I'm not that other writer, but that does sound like a good book to read.
