There's some beautiful stained glass windows inside the small church.
A stylized rainbow is featured in this window. One of Hawaii's unofficial state symbols is the rainbow. It currently appears on all their licence plates.
The front doors have a beautiful geometric design cut into them. Here it is from the inside of the church . . .
. . . and from the outside. Isn't it lovely?
Kula is located "upcountry" near the cattle-and-cowboy towns of Makawao and Olinda. Wouldn't this local art on the side of the church hall be right at home in Alberta's ranch lands near Calgary? Yee haw.

This little church's details are so lovely. The stained glass is gorgeous and surprisingly modern-lookingl.
I'm enjoying your posts on the Keokea Labyrinth. Still giggling over *drive up"!!! I loved the little churches on Maui. Just like this one, they seemed to give you a hug and had beautiful windows. Thanks for the memories!
It's such a beautiful little church. I would love to visit.

cute little building!
a lot of lovely care and talent went into this church, beautiful workman ship, I never asociate cowboys with Hawaii , thats really something.I love those stain glass windows, the one really catches my eye.
It's lovely. I love finding little chapels among the woods etc. I found one in a nearby town, up on a hill once. It wasn't any bigger than about 8ft by 10 ft. But such detail and love went into the building of it. I really love the door on your chapel.
A lovely church - its beauty can be felt even in the photos! Love the art - it'd even be at home here in this cowtown of Denver (well, it used to be a cowtown)
The stained glass windows are gorgeous!
ooo holly door lab!
The door look like holly leaves and berries.
What a beautiful and cute little church.
I love stained glass windows... And those are really beautiful. The Rail Trail is absolutely an old rail bed, it used to take the trains up the escarpment [Hamilton Mountain].
That stained glass is so pretty! Love the modern designs and colors.
~i adore stained glass windows and wished it was used more this day...intricate and beautiful details upon this wee little church...much love light and blessings~
ps...hows the shoveling going??? ours is gone...no trace to be found~
What a pretty little building. The stained glass is beautiful. There's something special about tiny places of worship, they're more intimate and friendly than a lot of the more formal and austere churches.
Oh Debra....I was at that same spot....many, many years ago....oh what memories you have brought back.

Beautiful and delicate details. And yes, that boot art should have been hauled back to Alberta!
What a lovely, quaint church. These are my favourite kind. Those stained glass windows are gorgeous.
Thanks for the info re: the design at the centre of the labyrinth. This church in today's post looks totally charming. Odd the stain glass windows are so different and yet it works so well. Just lovely!
