In My Own Defence

Yes, I am a middle-aged lesbian who has an inexplicable fascination with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. But in my own defence, at least I'm not one of those crazy Janeites who worship all things Austen. Their obsessiveness is satirized in this new over-the-top movie Austenland. It looks like a total hoot! I MUST see it when it comes to Edmonton!

I wonder if My Rare One would buy me one of those life-sized cardboard cut-out figures of Mr. Darcy/Colin Firth for Christmas? Hmmm . . . .

Oh my, I'm going to have to see this too. I have to confess, I had my mother make me one of those empire-waisted Austen-inspired dresses when I got married. I did know that I needed to draw the line at the bonnet though!

OMG... hysterically funny! I love all those Austen-like romances too. But to be honest, most of the men are just cads...cads I tell ya. Their bulging crotches, well, I sorta like those though, even on the cads. LOL

Oh dear, I liked Bret better when he was the other half of Flight of the Conchords. I think I'm gonna give this one a pass. :)

I had heard about this film. Looks like it would be fun to see. And the fame of the movie is only overshadowed by the notoriety of the Janeites!

That's okay, everyone is entitled to a fantasy or wish. If Julianne Moore knocked on my door this minute or any minute, I would pack my bags right there and then! :)

Tally Ho! Rather worryingly, that looks a lot like my neighbours in that clip.

I have some cardboard cut-outs of Bob and Doug McKenzie :)

Have a good one, eh.

must be a lesbian thing..I don't find him attractive at all...now Antonio Banderas? that's a different story.

I really didn't see the appeal of Pride and Prejudice. Maybe I'm don't like Jane Austin's works that much.

I didn't realize that Austenland was coming. AND you are right...it sounds like a hoot.
