Our Beautiful Tattoos

Long-time readers may remember my sad, cautionary tale about the disastrous temporary tattoo which I got in Mexico a few years ago. Chemicals in the black henna caused the tat to morph into a raised, angry red welt that took several long months to subside.

So did I learn my lesson from that whole ugly episode? No, I did not. I got another temporary tattoo in French Polynesia! Plus I talked My Rare One into getting one too! But not to worry -- this time there was no black henna involved, only safe non-toxic body paint.

Here's My Rare One showing off her alter ego as Honu Wahine -- Turtle Woman:

And here I am with my very erect hibiscus flower, LOL:

We sported these for about an hour before having a shower which caused their immediate demise.

I wish the permeant tat of have on my butt would come off in the shower. Not that I ever shower.

Yours look fun. :D

Those are nice. And the best kind of ink - wash off! I like the turtle design. It reminds me of Pacific Northwest Indian designs.

Good thing it didn't result in another six month rash. When I was in prison, my cellmate told me that the tattoo he gave me that said "Gordon's Ass Puppet" was temporary, but let me tell you, it does not wash off. I shouldn't have let him give it to me on my face.

Guess it's no surprise I like the turtle. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed just how happy your hibiscus was =P

Very beautiful artwork. That turtle design is spectacular. The tattoos that wash off are my favourite types :)

OMG, that hibiscus! Did you know that was how it was going to look, or was it a surprise? :D

I think in years to come, you'll be glad that hibiscus wasn't permanent! What fun--I'm coming on vacation with you guys next time!

Birdie said...

Can you imagine waking up from a black out drunk and the Hibiscus being permanent?

That hibiscus made me laugh. Just imagining what the bloke who did that was thinking is mind boggling.

I had a turtle like that one time. When it faded away, I went and got a permanent one. Very nice! :)

I am personally not a big fan of tattoos, I was not even that keen on those kiddie rub on ones we had when I was a child.

Wow, the previous experience is a cautionary tale indeed! I rather like the Phallic Flower...sounds like the name of a band or something. Glad these temporary tats were not damaging and that u and your rare one enjoyed French Polynesia .

Wow, that there looks like a little pecker. You crack me up.

About the veg treats: Yes, just have to be careful not to give the pups anything that is dangerous. Like onions are reported to be.

Love the turtle!
The hibiscus actually makes me feel a bit inadequate!

Lovely tats - even if they did wash off, its all about the experience!

How funny! That hibiscus flower made me chuckle this morning. Good for you! I've never even had a fake tattoo. Are you getting real ones now?! xoxo Silke
P.S. Thanks so much for your very kind comments on my last blog post!!

Those are lovely! I especially like the turtle.

I think I remember reading about your experience with the black henna. I do want to mention that you'll have better luck with regular henna if you want to give henna another try, since it doesn't have the same bad chemicals as the black henna.

Helloooo - popped over from Mrs. Cranky Pants. Lovely tattoos! And that hibiscus... did they advise you to seek medical attention if you didn't wash it off within four hours?

yellowdoggranny said...

great ones..but I really like the turtle.. although the horny hibiscus is pretty cool.

Hindustanka said...

Both tattoos are nice! Loving the turtle and yea, hibiscus too :)

Cperz said...

Thank goodness the hibiscus was temporary. I had the same thought as Abby's comment about having to seek medical attention after 4 hours. That just looks like tattoo porn.
